The first thing that strikes me is that it does not have a part number. Every government military scientists with some self respect would label each part with a number. Even that year ..

It looks (and sounds) like an ordinary earth bound bracket or piece of scrap metal. I agree with tep2000377. Military number everything - even soldiers!

Last I heard Area 51 was not a locker or a closet. It is a block on a map grid coordinate of the area.

It is not and I doubt it ever was a "Storage Area". The Govt folk refer to it as Groom Lake I believe.
