I would ask R. Buckminster Fuller what it was that kept him going. I am certain he went over it in his books, in fact I believe he writes about it in Guinea Pig B. It's always best to look into a person's eyes and hear it straight from their lips.

I would ask Nikolai Tesla how he felt about his brilliant ideas being stolen from him, and how he carried on knowing others were reaping the rewards. What with ending up poor the last portion of his life.

I would ask George W. Bush if his war profiteering was worth the human sacrifice and loss of a faith in the idea of America.
