FBI Could Investigate You

www.newschannel10.com

FBI Agents could soon be allowed to investigate Americans without any evidence of wrongdoing, according to the Justice Department.

Justice Department officials say FBI Agents would rely on a terrorist profile that could single out Muslims, Arabs or other racial groups. Randall County District Attorney James Farren says this announcement by the Justice Department really doesn't change anything in relation to the personal rights of citizens.

As I read this, if you belong to a particular group, that is sufficient cause for investigation. Once this precedent is in place, who gets to decide what these groups are? Does this open the door for arbitrary investigation of vegetarians, democrats, Quakers or perhaps people who go to the wrong kinds of web sites, like ATS?

After all, we how see how the "terrorist" label is applied anytime authorities do not want to be bothered with the horrible inconvenience of due process, the constitution or habeas corpus (oops, sorry that last one is gone for everyone).

I could have sworn this was already posted, but after a look, I couldn't find the thread. Maybe this one will stick.

The fact that your government can now investigate, detain, etc, without prior authorization, no form of checks from the public domain... this should give you a clear indication of the trend path your government is following.

It's an easy rut to fall into, to desire ultimate power over people. This seems to be the rut the US government is falling into lately.
They want to be able to dictate everything to you, and anyone who disagrees, they want to be able to eliminate.

Sure, they tell you it's for your safety... but it's not your safety their interested in, it's theirs. Security to a government means the ability to do as it pleases without fear of dissidence. Dissidence is a key factor in a free nation.
Free nations governments have to be reminded that there are people out there who will back the peoples voice with physical action if the government ceases to adequately represent the peoples will.

When a government gains the ability to crack down on those people, they no longer feel they have to represent the people, and simply represent their own interests.
For most politicians, these self interests are typically based on money and power.

The really hairy part comes when the people start to resist a power hungry government. The government, having already stripped you of your rights to do anything about the governments actions, will have no qualms about taking you out back and burying a bullet in your skull for disagreeing with them.

Of course it hasn't reached this level of oppression yet... but I do mean YET.

Some would say that no human being would ever follow such orders, to execute a fellow citizen for dissent... but put yourself in the executors position.
You know if you don't do it, you're the one on your knees with the mask over your head next.
... and besides, your government will have given you a nice excuse to help you sleep at night... that man was a terrorist. (Sure, you know he wasn't, but you do need to sleep at night.)

Power through fear.
And it's only just getting started.

The FBI is going to investigate people with no evidence of wrong doing?

Do they expect to get evidence? Maybe it is in their best interest to investigate people with evidence of wrong doing.

I'm innocent so I am not worried. But I am worried about tax payer money going to investigations of people without wrong doing, when they should be investigating the people with wrong doing.

I'm kinda new...and not sure about the quoting rules...but the following is from the article, word for word.

"Traditionally the FBI has been more restrictive than other agencies. All this does is put them on a level playing field with other agencies. Some of the other factors that could make someone the subject of an investigation... Recent travel to places known for terrorist activity, access to weapons or military training."

Now. Who sees the biggest problem in that statement?

At some point I hope USA citizens will rise up and stop this. But once the Nazi Police State has been fully implemented it will be a nearly impossible task.

I hope there is still a window through which Gandhian non-violent protest can work, but it looks more and more like a John Titor style civil war in the offing with the general public against the federal politico-military establishment.

Maybe I'm just not ATS savvy enough but my search on ATS came up negative. Sorry about that chief.
