Worlds most expensive house - Mumbai India

A report in the Mumbai Mirror revealed that the first six floors of the tower will be reserved for parking up to 168 cars, with the seventh floor set aside for vehicle maintenance. Above that will be an entertainment centre with a silver-domed ballroom and a cinema capable of seating 50 people. On the next floor up, comes a garden, then three floors with balconies, each with landscaped terraces of their own. The ninth floor will be an emergency room should they need to evacuate the building, while the two floors above that will house a fitness centre and gym. Any guests of the Ambanis will be catered for in the two floors above.

And perched atop of all this, with be the family quarters, home to Mukesh, his wife and their three children. Not forgetting his Indian roots, the world's fifth richest man has reportedly set aside one of those four floors for his mother, Kokilaben. Finally, the roof will serve as a helipad for up to three helicopters. There will be nine lifts and perhaps as many as 600 staff.

Please visit the link provided for the complete story.

What amazes me is that he is building it for only 5 people (mum, dad and 3 kids.) but will require 600 staff......

God loves a trier... maybe he wants to be closer to god.... or just one massive ego....

I've got to admit, if I could afford it, I'd do that, too. I had a dream about living in a really tall tower kind of like this, once. Rather odd to see it on a thread now.

600 staff? Wow. It's like a small town or palace or something.

^ I second that emotion!!!

If (
) i were fortunate enough to have all that money, i'd have the same thing!!!

WTH! Lets be honest! Sure, i'd help the world, i'd set up everyone of my friends here on ATS, i'd give to every fund, every disaster imaginable.

But you betcha i'm going to live lavishly too!!!

I dont like people who have it and live like misers so that the "family" can get it-
NO WAY! I know i cant take it with me, so i am gonna spend it and be so high maintenance it would make your head spin!!!!!

This is honesty!!!!!

Wait! The NINTH FLOOR is for emergencies, in case they have to exit the building? How do you exit to the outside from the ninth floor? Maybe I missed something (my computer crashed when I tried to open the link--it's old) but it sounds like the guy might be rich, but he's no genius.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Wth, it's good to keep the money moving.

If I had the dough, mine would be built into the side of a mountain. Sort of like Marius' keep in the Anne Rice books or, the fortress of solitude. -I'd invite plenty of company though

I dunno...it kinda sticks a big rusty spike in my little socialist soul...especially when he's surrounded by people...children...living in total poverty and hunger, probably with no sanitation and nowhere near enough food...just some of that cash would go a long long way at street level...

This is truly an expression of arrogance. I wonder if that area is up for a big earthquake. I'm sure the insurance company would have a ball.

It's of course ridiculous from about any perspective.

The way I look at it, at least it's a pretty harmless way for him to blow a bunch of money (or a little in his case). It's not hard to think of better ways it could have been spent but, also sadly easy to think of worse.

Cool post!

I think that if you have the cash ...well..why not?

Think about it. A billion dollar home. That's a thousand million!!!

Bet one of his staff has to wipe his a** for him as well!
