White House: Jobs Report A Sign of Slow Growth

www.cnbc.com

The White House said Thursday a report showing a sixth straight month of job losses in June was another sign of slower U.S. economic growth.

"The employment report today was largely in line with expectations," White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said.

"We are no doubt in a period of slow growth, it is growth nonetheless but it's very slow and it's had an impact on employment," she told reporters.

Ok so out comes the propaganda machine to quell the people who might start to ask questions and maybe even panic a little about our current economic situation. The fact is there is NO growth and in fact NEGATIVE growth. You have guys out there like Peter Schiff who used to be called Dr Doom because he has been calling this for a while telling people what is going on and they still call him Dr Doom. He like myself feels the government is throwing false numbers out there like inflation growing 2%. LOL you have to be kidding me. Also GDP growing 1%. We are growing? This is news to me. I just cant believe how pathetic our government is anymore and its more pathetic how stupid the sheeple we call voters are to not want to really know why everything is going up and what causes these problems. Lets get rid of the FED and repeal the 16th amendment if you want real growth.

Slow growth?!!!!!!
They just get more and more obvious. That's like saying driving your car in reverse is going slowly. Maybe the'll come up with a new term for a recession, that's what these people seem to do. How about a "negative growth bubble" or "an economic adjustment" or maybe even "a positive slide."
We lost 65,000 jobs last month, and our unemployment rate is still under 6%. What a crock!!! If you don't like the intelligence, you change it. If you don't like the economic numbers, change the criteria. How Orwellian can you get?

You've got it right on.
If people don't educate themselves about what our govermnent is doing to us, it's going to get worse and worse.
Much more of this, and I think surfs will be ready to carry the torches up to the wealthy landowner's house.

PJJJJJ long time my Florida friend. Im glad to see you posting again. Yup Ive been saying this since my very first thread

www.abovetopsecret.com...

people argued with me and said I was looney but look. Things are going right where I said and they are going to get worse in the near term. The government is giving false information so people will not panic but the people need to know the truth. The fact is even though they NEED to know the truth most of them dont WANT to know the truth. As long as they have their Paris Hilton gossip and a few scandals here and there they are content. The government is hosing us and we are all taking it like chumps.

Good to be back on! I ended up having to go without internet for a while until I moved into a cheaper place. Business is still really slow, but I moved into an apartment so my bills are much lower.

People are finally starting to see the big picture. It's a shame it takes an economic meltdown to make people start to wake up, but at least they're seeing the truth now.
Keep up the good fight!!

Dana Perino would tell you that your apartment is now cozier and your internet was briefly transitioned into paper form and your business is doing fine you just need to do away with that pesky accounts payable category and then your profits will rise dramatically. See how easy it is to turn lemons into urine....I mean lemonade.

Not trying to poke fun at your situation, only the situation our govt has forced the small business owner into. I hope the best for you and that your situation improves.

It drives me crazy that many of the Administrations policies have hurt the ones they said they were trying to help(businesses). Trickle down economics is a failed policy and Bush and Co. are trying to throw stimulus checks at the problem trying to fix there failed policies. How about get rid of the failed policy and implement something that is sustainable. Trickle down economics only works if businesses choose to reinvest large amounts of the savings they are getting from the govt. Instead, they give huge raises to CEOs and limit the extra monies from reaching the economy. Corps are only supposed to answer to the shareholder, so why would they take risks and reinvest voluntarily when it could hurt there stock price.

I dont think you are loony. You make excellent contributions to this site and you're right when you say that people need to see these truths. Our govt uses propaganda to brainwash people into thinking things are fine. The unemployment numbers are a perfect example, very few realize how this figure is calculated. Not only is the segement of people that are listed in this value misrepresented, unemployment only measures people who are currently on/receiving unemployment. I think it usually last about 6 months after that you are no longer measured as being unemployed. You are now listed as a "discouraged" job seeker. So anyone who has been without a job over 6 months is not included in the unemployment number. The unemployment number also doesn't measure the large number of people who find new jobs but at significantly lower pay. The auto industry takes a dump and people who were making $20+ an hour had to renegotiate wages with GM and others that were closer to $12 and/or they had to find a new job and it probably didnt pay the $20+/hr. Anyone who takes a 50% pay cut is just as well unemployed.

Many people in this country are in for a huge reality check and it will effect everyone from the bottom to the top and it will cross boarders affecting global markets.

Good post, keep the truth coming, i can handle it and many others need to start.

Great post ...yes trickle down theory does not work and it was proven with Bush where the top 1% did real well during the bush boom meanwhile the middle class actually lost money inflation adjusted. The average CEO in a fortune 500 company makes 500x more than his average employee tell me that isnt messed up. I made about 5x my employees and I felt guilty. Henry Ford knew it was important to have a strong middle class that is why he paid his people fairly well so he would have people with money to buy his products. The government has been tainted and is now some 2 party mafia that needs to be put out of commission for the sake of our country. I fear it wont happen till our country has been "robbed of everything and the people will wake up one day homeless on the land their fathers fought for"....Hmm sounds like a quote someone has said before...

I could never figure out why someone would think that giving the top 1% huge tax breaks would help anything. Here is the example i use: If you give someone who makes $10milion a year a tax break that gets them an extra 200k, what are they going to do with that money. 1)invest in stock market 2)place it in savings 3)buy a luxury item. These types of purchases or types of spending/investing, do very little to help the rest of the economy. This millionaire is not buying any more of the goods produced by this country. They are not buying an extra 1000 iPods or 10,000 boxes of cereal or 5000 new cars.
But if you gave that same break to the bottom 99% you would see that money going to a larger number of products. You would see thousands of extra boxes of cereal, cars, purchased which would have had a much better impact on the producers of those products. The economic stimulus package should have just been the yearly tax breaks that the middle class were getting over the last eight years, that would have helped things much more.

It just blows my mind because much of the pinch you are seeing on the middle class is because of a failed economic policy and the response is to just throw an insignificant amount of money as a band aid to the middle class. I just cant figure out how anyone can justify that as being the smart thing to do. An example would be that my car is making a horrible noise but instead of finding out what is wrong and fixing the problem, i just turn the radio up.

Maybe we should revive the idea of secession from the union, the idea of losing tax dollars could be enough to scare the govt into getting there poop together.

I was toying with the idea for a while to march on Wall Street and shut it down for a day to show the REAL people in charge that we're not going to stand for it anymore. After all, people march on DC now almost every day, but they don't cover it in the MSM.

We need to do something though. We have taxation without representation now, just like we did before the revolution. Sure, we have representatives, but they only listen to their special intrests and the corporations that pay them to vote the way they want.

As far as secession goes, the problem is you can't fight planes and tanks with handguns. And I'm starting to think that the people in charge now WANT the government to go bankrupt so that they can install themselves as a perminent regeime.
