If Obama is elected our taxpayer dollars will be spent in Africa to save his people. This is his whole intention for running for President. He wants to advance the African Americans and even the Africans with our taxpayer dollars. They need to advance themselves. I don't need every tom, dick and harry to help me get off my butt and make something for myself. But, they need that just to keep them going. Live off the government for life is their philosophy. Let's not vote in a President that doesn't want equality. If he wanted equality then he would not be pushing the whole I'm black vote for me thing. Let's keep this country going in the right direction please.

then he's too muslim
then he's not muslim enough

and now he's too black?

:shk:

i dont know where to start

the only thing good about posters like this is that they draw the racists out of the woodwork.

Now, when i see a thread started by eric, i can just walk on by.

What a selfish post OP. To take the fact that our money could help those who really need it the most and turn it around into anti-obama propaganda. You're basically slamming him for trying to help a country that is long overdue for some real help. Instead of going into Iraq, we should have gone into Africa. But wait, there's no oil in Africa.

Live off the government for life is their philosophy.

Is this your generalization of Africans?

That statment shows two things. That you have no idea what you are arguing against, and that you are a racist. I conclude that not from just this post but from a majority of your posts. I think the only reason you don't want Obama in office is because he's black. But to each his own.

I'm sorry, and I know I'll just be accused of name-calling by all the Obama haters here, but your post reeks of racism. Maybe edit a few of those nasty generalizations about black people out? I know plenty of black people who work hard to get ahead in society.

A vote for McCain is a vote for Europe!

America does a lot of charity work, towards a lot of different countries. Africa has been one of the countries America's helped before. Fact is, Africa needs a lot of help, has for a long time, ask a missionary or a traveling doctor who's been there and they tell you. Does that make it any different than many other countries that need help? Not really, Africa doesn't get a lot of press though.
As for keeping the country in the right direction... historically speaking, we've always helped countries when we have something to gain. Got oil? Well, we'll free you from thos e evil rulers.
Maybe giving a little more money to a country we're not going to screw over'd be a nice change in direction.
One more thing, I don't like Obama, or McCain, I'm just tired of hearing the crap about the former.

You know, eric, I've recently noticed two very interesting facts:

1) Most of the ATS threads you've started are anti-Obama.

2) Most of the anti-Obama threads on ATS were started by you.

Now, this information leads me to a rather startling conclusion. You have an unhealthy obsession with Barack Obama.

The amount of time you must spend every day seeking out new information to distort or take out of context to create your sensational claims must be mind-boggling. Did you know that, statistically speaking, the most virulent hatred comes from those who are secretly repressing the opposite emotions? Psychologist theorize that it is a form of overcompensation for holding beliefs or feelings that run counter to what one has been told is "right" or "proper". Typically, the repressed individual will lash out in order to "prove" that he or she does not feel the way that they actually do. In the long term, this is very unhealthy behavior and leads only to misery, pain, and self loathing.

Are you with me so far? Good. I have some advice for you eric. I really hate seeing my fellow human beings suffer, and you've shared your pain and suffering with us enough for me to see that you need help. It's ok to cry, just let it out. It's not wrong to feel the way you really do about Barack Obama. You don't need to hate yourself. Just let it go and embrace your inner Barack Obama. I know it will be tough, and some people won't understand, but we'll be here to help you through it, one day at a time. In time you will learn to love yourself as you love Barack Obama. I look forward to that day.

i don't want black OR white, red OR yellow, brown OR green ppl living off the $$ i earn for me and my children. i don't want it going to the rich and i don't want it going to the poor who can easily get up off their arse and make a better life for themselves.

if i help someone, i want it to be because i choose to do it. what extra $$ i bring in is for the financial security of my children and their future.

all the rest of this is just distraction from what we really need in this country. more personal responsibility and less government responsibility.

whether a candidate loves the home of their ancestors or not is not my concern and what they do with THEIR personal $$ in helping to fund the poor of their homeland is also not my concern.

i just want what's mine.

That is just a ridiculous comment. It is obvious that you are getting your information from gossipers etc.

I seen in the newspaper stand a sign that says, "Forum, Bloggers, Web Articals oh my! Get reliable information right her in your local newspaper."

Ok, we all know that the media is quick to jump at a story before it thoroughly investigates it, so they are not %100 accurate. The news stand does have a point. The internet is becomming a big pile of news oppinion and not fact.

I'll make a news website and create articals, pay for traffic to get it popular and then alot will believe it is reputable fact. The inter net has become such crappola when it come to factual information.

Look at wikipedia everyone is using it as a factual reference and all it is is non-factual submissions by anyone.

Africa hasn't evolved with the rest of the world. It is what it is. When I work for money, it's for me.........not you, not your brother, not your cousin, not some guy in China, and not some guy in Africa. It's my money, and my taxes that I pay should go to the benefit of the U.S.A. Not Africa, not Russia, Kalamazoo or whatever. How about we don't get involved in everybody else's business. Isn't that the one thing the USA is so often criticized for? Butting in? I say we butt out of Africa, and let them sleep in the bed they made. Not my problem...shouldn't have to come out of my taxpaying pocket.

I truly wish we US taxpayers could pick where we wanted our taxes to be invested. Then all you bleeding hearts can fund Africa (yeah, that country run by idiots on the other side of the ocean). And I'll invest my taxes into everything USA...the country where I live and breathe.

Think he'll match the current President?

Popular in Africa: Bush has given more aid than any other US president

When President Bush came to power in 2001, the US spent $1.4bn a year on humanitarian and development aid in Africa. By 2006, the figure had quadrupled to $5.6bn a year. And it is likely to get bigger. The centrepiece of Mr Bush's aid to Africa is the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (Pepfar), a five-year, $15bn Aids prevention and treatment programme launched in 2003. His most recent budget proposes doubling the funding to $30bn over the next five years.

Guess Bush is in on Obama's plan, huh?
Did you even know the facts before you started this horribly ignorant thread?

Honestly I rarely say such things but your post starter is the most ridiculous Obama claim yet. Please say it was for attention only. Otherwise you and the person that starred your post are in need of serious help.

Nuff said?

I think the US should butt out of other countries problems, give back
the tax money to the people who worked hard to earn it, let them decide
how charitable they want to be. most of the taxes are wasted and
vanish anyway, I think we would see a surge in foreign and domestic aid if
the people held on to their own money and spent it how they chose.

the OP is right.
what a huge waste if Obama increases aid.
You can donate all the food/aid to Africa that you want but you wont solve
anything . Its too corrupt. The US is pouring peoples tax money down the drain.

south Africa is the murder/rape capital of the world. they took farms from
the whites in zimbabwe to give to blacks, but blacks are fleeing that
country to the south because of corruption. whose gonna feed zimbabwe
now, once the bread basket of south africa, the US taxpayer?
the south african president doesnt care whats happening in zimbabwe,
he's going to do the same thing, right now south africa exports farm
products.

and the genocides, someones funding them. Various govts and businesses.
The US I'm sure is one of them. Henry Kissinger's National Security
Memorandum 200 ("NSM 200") which was quietly declassified in 1990
says among other things that: "The U.S. economy will require large and
increasing amounts of minerals from abroad, especially from less-
developed countries
www.hiddenmysteries.org...

why should the US tax payer foot the bill for this corruption?
nobody wants to get to the root of the problem. The only solution
these geniuses can come up with is raise taxes.

The African people should be the richest in the world because their
continent is the richest.

You want change, vote obama, cause thats all you'll have left after he
raises your taxes.

Did you even read through the few posts here?
I already pointed out that Bush has it set to increase already.
You are complaining about the WRONG person. Obama isn't even President. This is all speculation. You should be smart enough to see that at least.

The OP is not right.

Yes because we all know how full our pockets have been over the last eight years.
Get real. We're in debt up to our eyeballs. Any person going into the white house will have a mess on their hands thanks in part to the Republican leadership.

These spendaholics have shamed the REAL conservatives and they are honest enough to admit it. MANY conservatives agree that this administration screwed up the party and what...ANOTHER one is going to fix things?

The upper-class tax cuts will be removed.
So unless your salary is in the mid to high three-figure range stop misleading people.

This place is going to financially crash soon, as it seems was the plan all along.
No one will fix or prevent that.

I really don't know where to start with this one, but I think that is the problem:

I agree with most of the posters in that it is bordering on a sectarian (deliberately divisive) or racist agenda (I would not go as far as calling you a racist, thats harse IMHO).

A shame of a post and the only thing you have got to show for this apparent 'colour-based' agenda is one website page.

Let's keep this country going in the right direction please.

Maybe not racist, but extremely ignorant!!

US Humanitarian financial aid is a trickle compared to military based financial aid.

International financial aid overall is a trickle of what we've spent in this war in Iraq (Trillions!!!).

If you don't like Obama because he may (or many not) "waste" a trickle of money in Africa--you must be totally furious at Bush!!!

"If Obama is elected our taxpayer dollars will be spent in Africa to save his people."
-Compared to Bush who used taxpayer dollars to save "his" people (the rich and elite).

"He wants to advance the African Americans and even the Africans with our taxpayer dollars. They need to advance themselves. "
-You must HATE Bush and McCain too because they support using taxpayer dollars to advance Afghani's and Iraqi's. Shouldn't they help themselves? BTW I'd rather help an African American with my taxes than another dam oil executive.

So "A" we vote for a guy who might spend billions on US citizens, here in the US economy because of the "I'm black, vote for me thing."

Or "B" we vote for a guy who will continue spending trillions on foreigners in the middle east because of the "I'm a war hero, vote for me thing."

One of the reasons oil is so expensive is because of all the US dollars we've dumped into the Middle East. When the Middle Eastern elites have a lot of dollars, it is devalued to them. Of course the price per oil barrel will go up.

Your upset that African Americans may benefit with Obama. You should be upset that the government has been benefiting America's richest with your taxes. It doesn't trickle down! You think the way that the economy is, that wealthy people are investing in US industries--nope. If anything, Bush opened the door for the rich to invest in speculative oil purchases, further driving up the price per gallon.

At least a poor person with a government check spends the money in YOUR local utilities or stores.

Your so blinded by bigotry you don't realize your being duped by those you defend into the "right direction."

Interesting. Some people are fine with the fact that their hard earned tax money is spent on a war, but not fine with it that money is spent on saving lives in another part of the world? Doesn't make sense to me.

But then again it isn't my tax money. My tax money goes into... wait a second... Africa? That's right. I rarely get anything in return for my tax money. But I know my money is used to help people that can't afford a medical aid. It's used to help build houses for the homeless. It's used to educate children that cannot afford school fees. Do I complain that I don't get much out of the deal? Nah. Because I'm lucky enough to have a roof over my head, fresh water out of the tap, a car, a medical aid, a savings account. So I'd rather get what I'm getting for my tax money. Rather that than seeing it spent on a brand new tank.

I get the feeling that some people are a bit unsure about what exactly is going on in Africa. Not that I blame you. The media is all you have. I am happy however to see that most people's hearts are in the right place.

Oh, and I wouldn't buy into that "south Africa is the murder/rape capital of the world" story either.

The United States is already sending billions of dollars to Africa...and Europe and Asia and South America. Traditionally, foreign aid is not given to help the recipient but to help the donor. Do you not see the benefit to the United States on many levels to giving foreign aid, in terms of both economic and national security?
