Apple costs 3X pc's for upgrades

Yes, you read that correctly.

You see, for the most part, apple has propritory hardware/software.

That means you can't buy any brand part on sale, you must bye apple brand at a serious cost to the consumer.

so the solution, dont get a mac if you dont want one, I have a mac computer, funny enough I also have a dell pc, the dell ive had for 3 years, the mac for 4, and the dell doesnt run so well anymore, maybe im not the best computer owner, but I do know my mac runs just fine, but I guess I must have just mistreated the dell, right?

Maybe you haven't mistreated the Dell, handpicked components its the best way of making a good and stable computer, that is why I plug in and out network cards on my computer without shutting it down, and after 5 1/2 years it's still working as expected.

Inflating the prices of upgrades is one way of recovering some of the money lost by selling cheaper than before (and that is the only way Apple can sell their computers now, with components similar to those of other PCs).

i am quiete happy with my mac!
i am working with apple equipment since the early 90s and it served me very well through the decades. sure in 1994 we got the most expensive computer ever – about 6000 euros - but it was worthwhile
in about 40 working years = 4 apple macintosh working 8 hours a day for 10 years just 2 major damages – 1 hard disk crash and 1 mother board crash
and we are working professional with the macs

my bro/in law has reinstalled his windows computer throughout the whole time i guess over a dozen time
we save time and money with the mac after buying it!

even last weekend it was proofen again: mac is outstanding
my bunny didn.t wanted to boot, and we checked in single user mode the system, cleared the parameter ram: and bingo it is as stable as new
and i didn.t had to reinstall the whole system or to erase the whole hard disk

for the prices: sure apple store is expensive
you can also buy hard disk at other stores and built them in, as well as RAM
usually the middle model suits very well - even working in graphic design, so my last mac costs about 2000 euros, so 1/3 of the price the first power mac 8100/100 in 1996!

Most (if not all) parts in a modern Mac can be replaced with third party hardware. It's not like the old IBM days anymore--my two cents
