Please reconsider.

You may note that the 'naysayers' as you call 'em have also the capability to rally to the side of the OP, as many of us have done.

He's shown extraordinary patience and I like to think almost everyone, skeptic and fan alike have been quite polite through this, questioning only the photos and not the OP.

If you are truthful and honest it shows and I've seen some very strange pictures posted with good intentions and those had mostly positive replies.

Remember the skeptics have kept some people honest and also gotten some hoaxers outed. So they are worthy members.

Thanks for listening.

I too agree with Badge(good point in your post, starred),in fact Badge is known for being a 'hard skeptic' in my eyes, and has challenged me many times.(No hard feelings right Badge?
) If it were not for the skeptics this site and the world for that matter would run wild with hoaxers.Be patient, the truth will come

Blumming right too.

If this was a site where people just posted pics and everybody said.. "oh it's a ufo".. then it wouldn't make up much of a discussion/fact finding mission would it?

We're supposed to be learning..not just agreeing for politeness sake..and bar a couple of silly comments I've seen, everybody HAS been polite.

So where's the beef?

People post pics to HAVE them scrutinized..It ain't no art gallery here.

To UKBLOKE,

Have you though about reporting your sighting on MUFON.COM or on some other sites too? This would help spread the word if someone else had a similar sighting.

Just a thought, and thanks again for sharing.

MUFON

I prefer to think of it as hard-line scientific, rather than skeptical.

I always try to think of a way to make even exotic concepts or theories that people post work, but using a scientific approach.

If possible I'll say "that could work, but it's a fringe idea, very fantastic, so it's not high probability and these prosaic things should be considered more strongly".

I try never to say 'nonsense' and not qualify it.

Of course no hard feelings whatsoever.

Heck, I even have some fringe ideas, and I'll even participate in 'theoretical' discussions about what aliens might look like and suspend my own disbelief.

IMO, even skeptics should try to learn and add to the body of knowledge while they are giving an alternate point of view and never -completely- discount a 'story'.

I look for 'internal consistency' (and internal inconsistency). If your story has those aspects, I'll go right along with it, though I might caution or give a parallel explanation.

At least I think I do; it's my intent.

well put, I am mostly a silent skeptic and love to read the posts on ATS - for the most part I find them amusing but sometimes they can be very educational - there are some very intelligent people on these boards.
The questions must be asked, blind faith is the real enemy.

I don't understand why anyone who had what they thought were true, un-hoaxed photos to share...and posted them on here ASKING for people's opinion would care if they were questioned?

Please explain your attitude to this since you brought up the fact that you'd be reluctant to post pictures on here because of that?

Obviously this OP didn't care if everything was questioned and it's not like we are interrogating him necessarily, we are just asking for the FACTS....If you have photos and you feel like you can't post them here due to the members of this site asking you for the where, when, what, how and why, sounds, terrain, witnesses etc and the technical data needed to analyze the photos then why are so many people placing their videos or photographs on here to begin with?

Perhaps you don't want your photos or video scrutinized...and that's your choice, but anyone posting photos or videos or "evidence" obviously does and they know what questions need to be asked, if there's going to be any sort of investigation going on...if they balk at the questions, IMO then they don't want the "truth." It's standard operating procedure to try to get all the facts you can and people who think that just because they post pictures on here, they should be treated as "The Truth" without questioning, should maybe stay in BTS or Skunkworks.

The OP doesn't mind the questions, and keeps answering them and posting what the people who can analyze them need to investigate. So if he/she doesn't care, why should you?

Very good post Apexer..........On a quick side note since I have you here now~Very funny posting in my 'u2u is down' thread saying "I have a love interest here on ATS",lol....loved it.

Back on topic,UK did you see any shape to the lights?

I love these pictures

What I think would realy help is a short video taken from where you took the pictures, just to try and help get the perspective right. Seeing the tree and the ground in a panned back shot would be great.
Also another witness would help your case, mabie someone else saw it and called the police or the local rag. Even getting your story in a local paper may throw up a few witnesses.

Let me tell you about artists and criticism. They’re the worst man the worst. The worst what?

Ehm.. them are the worst critics, aaaand the worst to take criticism. The critics on this site are just nice respectable blokes (ieeeeewwww) compared to most (

Okay. It's a darned UFO.

So what?!?!

It's unidentified. NOTHING can be concluded about these mere blobs of light.

It's COULD be RC aircraft with lights. It COULD be helicopters with light. It COULD be experimental aircraft. It COULD be military drones. It could be anything that is man made that has not been categorized and substantiated.

So what?

So to ALL the Woo Woo believers of faith, there's NOTHING that came out of this thread other than pictures of blobs of light hovering in the air.

NOTHING MORE.

Move along. Life goes on on planet earth. Continue to pay your taxes, eat fast food and pay for your fossil fuel and go on with your everyday life.

Only a collection pictures of unsubstantiated, totally unidentifed blobs of light. Nothing more.......

Absolutely fabulous and unusual. The blue 'solid' part reminds me of the head of the Sphinx in Egypt, only in perfect undamaged form (MG_1085). Can you describe how it moved - speed and pattern of flight, strange antics etc

UKBloke, quick questions:

You said your daughter saw a green light hovering over the river, and that you saw green lights as well.

They look blue and white on my computer - wonder if it's my graphics card. Anyway, was it steady green and white lights, blinking, or alternating or what? And did they appear to be simply operating lights or where they shining down on something?

Is green a standard operating light color for man-made aircraft, particularly the Osprey type that has been mentioned in several posts? The general shape appears to be consistent with an Osprey, but the movement doesn't.

How long did your daughter watch it before alerting you, and then how long did it take you to find your camera and snap the series of pictures? Just trying to get a feel for how long this craft hovered over in one spot.

Okay ,maybe my post was a tad bit bitter. I aplogize.
Let me restate my opinion, with more positive spin;

I am glad that UKbloke has triumphed, because it means that if someone HAS genuine evidence, no matter how much we fight ourselves, the evidence will shine through.

and to the guy who said "where would ATS be without the naysayers," I ask you to go back and ask yourself if most of what I am truly talking about was done in a scientific light, or if it was a witchhunt. But I do respect your point.
I just keep thinking one day,we're going to come across some real evidence, and people are going to blow over it.
Thankfully, I was proven wrong, and I'm glad for it.

Sixteen pages and no mention of "swamp gas" or "weather balloons."

My thanks to everyone on this thread for a fun, two-hour-ish ride and I think I'm gonna enjoy AboveTopSecret a lot!

Something I don't understand.

"My Apologies, these have been sitting on my card for a couple of weeks and I checked the exif for date and must have got it wrong (I transpose numbers in my mind 14/6 became 16th for some reason). It was the 14th as the exif shows"

So you took the photos on the 14/6/2008

But waited, after being on the site for 4 years and with the thread headline that reads "Been on this a site a long time and now I get pics" 27-6-2008

You say you grabed the cam and rushed out, then snapped the pics. Why then did you not put them into the pc, I would have put them on right away, get a good view of what it was I just looked at.

You also said "Monday before last my ears started humming" Monday was the 16th - why the mix up in saturday and monday.

Ukbloke, why don’t you get in contact with The Sun newspaper about this? Over the last 2 weeks they have given a lot of press about UFO’s. You could remain anonymous if you wanted and just tell them you will send them the pictures. If this got printed by “The Sun” (which I’m sure it would) it would allow other people to come forward and say they saw it to. I would go as far as saying that The Sun is screaming out for a pic like this, so please send them this.

awfully convenient how it flies right on top of the trees, and not behind them where youd have to spend a lot of time masking things out with a photo editor with it behind some leaves....
