Doc, I read your example, and I can see your point. But as a moderator, what am I supposed to do? Should I tell this person they're not allowed to express that opinion? Would doing so not make me one of the thought police? How many threads about "Natzi Mods" would such an action cause?

Or the other way around, saying I agreed with that person. Would I not be policing the other members, telling them to only post those videos and threads that some "elite" group of ATS members approved of? Who would get the right to decide what was worthwhile or worthless? And again, how many threads about "Natzi Mods" would such an action cause?

And I personally find it interesting, in a strange sort of way, that some people post the same "OMG, ATS has gone to Hell" or "How Long Must I Suffer These Foolish Threads?" diatribes over and over. It's a love/hate thing, I guess. You would think that when they click on a video, like the You Tube "Alien In My Freezer" thing, and if strongly bothered by it's innanity, they would just move on to a more productive thread. (Thereby allowing that one to die a well deserved silent death due to inattention.) Or, if they just have to enlighten the world, civilly state their opinion as to the veracity of the video/article, and let it go.

Sometimes I just go "Hmmmm????"

Is it that, or are disinfo agents at work? I'll let everyone decide for themselves on that issue.

Decide for themselves they should.

And to help with that decision, I'd highly recommend that any member simply click on each mods name, and review some of their posts....

For surely, if you are correct, and we are all disinfo agents, then none of our posts should be in favor of government coverups, well-supported UFO cases, or pro-conspiracy alleging to government coverups, right?

Yep...the old "ATS staff are disinfo agents" topic pops up rather routinely...but if one ever truly looks into it, and sees the proof in the pudding by examining the staff members' views...then they'll certainly arrive at the correct and more supported conclusion.

Oh, and if we are disinfo agents, and I somehow missed that memo, I want my check!

I have said it before and I will say it again. When and if an undeniable video or photos are taken they will more than likely be sold and shown by the mass media. Solid disclosure or undeniable proof will never break on ATS for the simple reason that there is way too much fringe going on here and a historic event merits very credible and very serious people. I mean as a believer it's sometimes hard to look past topics like HOW TO SUMMON ALIENS. That said I come to ATS to hear about rumors. To hear about stuff that locals may have witnessed and that the media is not covering. The ability to see the big picture is what matters most.

While such an event breaking on ATS may not be accepted by the mass media or the Public, I'd wager we'll see it here before we see it on such media...even if undeniable...(like a UFO landing in Central Park).

I'm a relativly new member although i've been comming to this site for years and i have seen it change.

People have come and gone subjects and thread topics have come full-circle, tastes and attitudes have changed, and new predjudices have squashed old ones and information has squashed those new predjudices.

Basically things have changed, not for the better, not for the worse, just different and new.

There is only one thing wrong with ATS and that is us, the members and the posters, those who decide to post things that they themselves know are rubbish, those who's posts mainly take the form of personal attacks on other posters to bolster their own egos, and those who cannot just agree to dis-agree.

I have looked through ATS today and some threads i thought were rubbish and some the subjects i thought weren't even worth the time discussing by anyone, so i diddn't call for their deletion or for a mod to close the thread, i just went along my way and on to another topic.

Civility is the only thing that may have taken a turn for the worse, but thats our fault isn't it?
After all we make the posts.
