L.A. County jails to expand immigration screening

The inmates sit on a metal bench in a converted cell at a Los Angeles County jail. Many have served their time and are ready for release. But not before a quick interview.

Where were you born? Have you ever been deported? Did you know that a judge had ordered you to leave the country?
Customs Enforcement for possible deportation.

it's about time that we start to deport the illegal alien criminals from our overrun city . imo we need to take some of that 165billionbeing debated for the war and apply it to this situation and try to bring our local economy back up to par .
as a construction worker here in LA i've noticed over the past few years that you almost have to speak spanish on the job to have anyone understand you . i also have friends out of work and relying on the system because the construction industry is slowing down because of the economy while people from other countries are flourishing . i just hope and pray that the officials do the right thing and ramp up the efforts and be rid of all illegal
aliens taking our jobs and money from us as legal citizens .

Immigration rights advocates says that screening inmates in jail will be detrimental to US justice system but does not push for any possible solution. This is a classic example of bad politics. I am an immigrant but does not vie with their views.
