Israelis 'rehearse Iran attack'

Israel has carried out an exercise that appears to have been a rehearsal for an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, US officials have told the New York Times.

More than 100 Israeli fighter jets took part in manoeuvres over the eastern Mediterranean and over Greece in the first week of June, US officials said.

So is Israel going to attack Iran first, thus forcing the US to come to the aid of our Middle Eastern allies? Looks like we're going for the nice guy route, just helping a friend. I like how the officials pretend like they don't know what Israel is planning to do, as if we don't coordinate these sort of things.

Glad to see it. Iran needs to be taught a lesson. Don't say we cant hurt you or we wont. They have been caught many times by the U.N. recently with nuclear warhead and trigger designs so they are going to get a beating for not taking the offer that we gave them over and over to try and make peace.

Our offer was ridiculously beneficial to Iran and they are still not taking it because they want nukes.

Our offer was ridiculously beneficial to Iran and they are still not taking it because they want nukes.

I'd want nukes too if everyone who already had them was against me. I'm not defending Iran, but I see where they're coming from.

If Israel are flexing their muscles, they must have a good reason. They don't do anything idly.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was a last minute warning, and the next thing we know, they've bombed them.

Exactly. They have been pushing us into a corner ever since we have been in Iraq and we have not done anything to them at all.

I am not saying I want this to happen or I think it should happen. I do think that if this does happen that Israel would be the one better to get away with it. Point being they have gotten away with it before. The attack on the Nuke plan in Irac.

Such ignorance on this board, America is nothing more than Israel's bitch. Attacking Iran will not only destroy your country but the world as well. Do you honestly believe Russia and China will stand by quietly and let you get control of all that oil, oil that they depend on too? just why are these operations being made public... it it a sort opublic statement that they are going to a DefCon 4 status or something?

Was Israel actually hoping for Iran to cease their operations because of this bluff/window dressing/projection of power??

in the last week to ten days... the inspectors were given unfettered access to sites and Iran provided the IAEA required records on the nuclear material on hand... everything is on the up-&-up as far as IAEA & the UN is concerned.


Last year, the Israelis were doing flights with facimile 30ton bunker busters
on long flights to Gibralter, as that would be the duration/distance of an Iran airstrike operation.

In any case being prepared is a lot better than being caught by surpirse,
and the resulting standoff is not an 'esclation' of tensions---if the result is that 'nothing happens'

What are you talking about? It was the US that made the announcement about Israel's practice run.

they are just flexing in the mirror so iran can get a good look at what they are messing with . isreal doesn't let anyone know when they are going to strike and this is not a practice run . isreal hasn't been here this long by letting their enemy know they are coming that's just ridiculous .

How is the control over Iraqi' oil working for the U.S.? Last I checked I'm paying $4 a gallon.
Yeah, I think Israel will be the first to do anything. Nobody is going to do anything about it. Some name calling, some nasty words at the U.N. and that is that.

where the US did do a regieme change and put puppet in place only to be thrown out by the people of Iran.

Not taking sides here in this arguement, personally I detest both sides, but as an observer, if Israel feels justified in attacking Iran as a means of self denfence, then surely Iran is entitled to defend itself and retaliate aswell is it not?

This surely will not be a one way excercise at all, and Israel must surely know this?

As soon as Israel sends those plans towards Iran, surely their air raid sirens would be going off, trying to get as many of their own citizens into underground bunkers before any chance of Iranian retaliation, or they risk killing many of their own citizens.

And if they do pre warn their citizens, there must be some Iranian or Syrian intelligence people within Israel that would forwarn Iran of this before the plans get to their target.

Does this seem plausable?

Otherwise in the case that Iran does successfully retaliate against Israel and many perish in this act, then the Israeli government would surely be responsible for the murder of how ever many of their citizens by not forwarning them of their intentions and putting their nation in harms way.

Regardless how it plays out, it is a complex operation, as Im sure Iran has already made preparations for its defence and Im not taling about from/in Iran, they must surely have a closer means of attacking Israel.

It will make an interesting "Chess" matchup, except the pawns will be the citizens of not only Israel and Iran, but the rest of the world that will have to live with the ramifications of such an act.

Closer means off attacking Israel? Hamas in Gaza and Hisbollah in Lebanon are the Iranian foreign legions on Israels border playing a waiting game for their next orders from Tehran.

This isn't about oil, or anything except Iran getting nukes to start WWIII and attack Israel.

Its about bringing back the 12 mahdi. No negociation, nothing will stop the march to nuclear war.

The blindness of "secular" media and others won't allow them to see the real truth here.

Iran thru akmadingdong will attack Israel and America with nukes as soon as they have enough material............
