This is my first time posting on ATS, but have been reading topics for some time. This weekend in Florida I was star gazing, very clear night. I live in a remote area. Suddenly a star that was in my view started to move, I had to focus my eyes because I thought I was seeing things. A stationary star started to move across the sky, high across the sky. You wouldn't even notice it if you weren't looking right at it. It went from west to east clear across the sky and I had to constantly turn slowly to keep my eyes on it. As soon as it got close to another star in the east, it disappeard. No, it was NOT a shooting star, looked just like any other star. Can someone tell me what I was looking at. I didn't see any colors.

Hi Mike

-yes why didnt i take a photo...

first off all, when this started i had recently bought a digital camara with a giant zoom lens i paid around 3000$ for this..
i bought the camera and started filming chemtrail planes..
i have some avesome photo of this..

when i started seeing these low flying "stars" every day above christiania, my camera was stolen from my car and actually the thought struck me that it was the ufo above which i saw when leaving the car that did it just too anoy me.

then i only had my nokia n93 phone and for the next few weeks i didnt consider taking a film instead of a picture with it. a picture of a moving bright star is only good if its somehow not looking like a star, like the one i saw in a dark contryside area where the milkyway is bright.. it had a light that was somewhat irregular.

i took one film later though..

sky above copenhagen 15. may 2008, 00:50:34 local time

i dont really remember what is on this shot... i have seen that many sightings last month...
and actually i had forgotten i had filmed it... found it on my phone.. and remembered i did some not very good filming..

i watched it now and i must say that it cant be compared to seeing these objects with the naked eye. i cant even figure out in that short film which stars are moving here..
well i posted it anyway

but it seems i can communcate with these ufo's
not on the personal level..
but i know when they are there... again and again last month i could feel them and if they werent there i waited and surely they would appear, flying relatively close above
and they know when im watching.. i dont know if its only coincidential... but a few times when i opened the lenscover on the phonecamera, the ufo turned on its cloak.. like it can feel the level of observation, the same way i can feel when they are visible or getting visible...

You were probably seeing a satellite.

there is another thread on this running right now..
i mean the moving stars.. sorry that im too lazy to find the link..
i just spend some time writing above post, now i need a break...

but i just wanted to say that the thing youve seen is the same as i... exactly the same... the sight of the stars, the way they move and the way they shine.
it makes me think of one thing..
are theese exterterestials or are these manmade ships.. they could be both off course, but if aliens why are their cloaking not perfect.
actually i had the thought that the cloaking technology they use is sensitive to energy from the earch or if its optical it might have flaws.. another thought is that they do it on purpose, turn off the cloak, or that they become visible if they want to do some action wich is not possible as cloaked
they fly low sometimes.. by low i mean relatively low. but far enough away to look at stars.. but if flying low only a local area on the earth will see them simultanously.. my guess is that these moving stars are smaller ships, not motherships.. but the ships inside maybe.
Please look for these all ATS... i havent seen any this month our nights here in denmark are very short now. But they'll be back, ive seen them off and on for a year now.
cheers

NO ive seen the same stars appearing - dissapering, moving in non linear directions, slowing down speeding up, not dissappering completely, brightening up....

ITS NOT A SaTTELITE IF IT was he woundt write

PLEASE STOP THE stupid debunking or go outside every night for a forthnight and then post your results..

Nice try, guys. But allow me to throw some common sense into this thread.

I located this star in Worldwide Telescope as did another poster. My findings are a bit more down to earth. Here's what you see in the normal view:

Now watch what happens when we right click and look at other image options:

What we're doing is having the program show us an SDSS image of the star. Here's what we see. Does this look familiar?

Now look closer at the URL where this is being pulled from:

Okay, so what is SDSS imagery? SDSS stands for the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. This is just a collection of imagery taken of objects in the sky, like stars, galaxies, etc. So what does that link tell us? It tells us this particular image is using SDSS's DR5 (Data Release 5) image format. So why is that important? If we refer to the SDSS site first we see that the images are "spectrographic" images. Here's something else from the site:

The u filter has a natural red leak around 7100 Å which is supposed to be blocked by an interference coating. However, under the vacuum in the camera, the wavelength cutoff of the interference coating has shifted redward (see the discussion in the EDR paper), allowing some of this red leak through. The extent of this contamination is different for each camera column. It is not completely clear if the effect is deterministic; there is some evidence that it is variable from one run to another with very similar conditions in a given camera column. Roughly speaking, however, this is a 0.02 magnitude effect in the u magnitudes for mid-K stars (and galaxies of similar color), increasing to 0.06 magnitude for M0 stars (r-i ~ 0.5), 0.2 magnitude at r-i ~ 1.2, and 0.3 magnitude at r-i = 1.5. There is a large dispersion in the red leak for the redder stars, caused by three effects:

The differences in the detailed red leak response from column to column, beating with the complex red spectra of these objects.
The almost certain time variability of the red leak.
The red-leak images on the u chips are out of focus and are not centered at the same place as the u image because of lateral color in the optics and differential refraction - this means that the fraction of the red-leak flux recovered by the PSF fitting depends on the amount of centroid displacement.
To make matters even more complicated, this is a detector effect. This means that it is not the real i and z which drive the excess, but the instrumental colors (i.e., including the effects of atmospheric extinction), so the leak is worse at high airmass, when the true ultraviolet flux is heavily absorbed but the infrared flux is relatively unaffected. Given these complications, we cannot recommend a specific correction to the u-band magnitudes of red stars, and warn the user of these data about over-interpreting results on colors involving the u band for stars later than K.

Conclusion: Google Earth's "sky mode" is using SDSS DR5 imagery in some areas. Take a look at the surrounding stars close to Muphrid - they are all the same!

The star you speak of is the Mufrid, and by the look of Microsoft World Wide Telescope, you can see some red dots circulating this star. However I believe I do not have substantial evidence as to go as far as to claim this as alien ships. We may be looking at red dwarf planets. You can actually download this telescope free of charge (Microsoft world wide Telescope) and locate these stars by name, and draw up your own conclusions, but I personally think that can be ANYTHING...but good catch and just keep your eyes to the sky

Neat thread, aside from this type of complete bunk cluttering it up. I wish people who had nothing to do with the thread would stay out and keep this type nonsense to themselves.

The thing that interested me was the red dots. That I clearly can see on your pictures too.

John Lenard Walson is a fraud and hoaxer. People have proven this over and over again, but gullible people like yourself cannot accept that this guy is a thief and a fraud. He was trying to sell DVD's and he got in too far over his head with the lies, now he can't turn back.

Wake up.

Please understand that I am not trying to debunk. Telling me to go outside is pretty fun since I am currently studying astrophysics here in Sweden.

I was anonymous, now I'm starlightstarbright. Still trying to figure out how this site works. Thanks for replying to my moving star. I'll look around to find the thread your talking about. It definately was not a satelite.

Hi I e-mailed the ceo. The guy seems like a con-artist and was ticked off when I ask about that ufo. He asked me where did I find out and I gave this site, and he said yes and told me to go look outside with my own eyes.
He also told me to stop asking questions.

however I looked on www.wikisky.com and in the search area if you type sun you get to see some blue circles in formation looks like alien crafts ufo.

I don't think these are wormholes or blackholes it looks to me like alien crafts since they are in formation.

Also there has been reports that I seen on tv of ufo sightings that remeber a blue glow and semi-transparent.

just take a look in wikisky.com search sun all lowercase and tell me what you think.

I am no expert of space, but thought this could be somthing since I found these all over the place.

I was looking at the orion star system for a while tonight, and all of a sudden i saw an object come out of it, it was like a not to bright spec of light moving fast across the sky. This object was definitely not a plane or a satellite or an asteroid either. I could barley follow it, it seemed like it was definitely far away in space, moving so fast, i just kind of lost it and couldn't find it again. Then i saw another one come out about 10 minutes later, and it proceed to move north, then changed its direction and went south, i then lost it like the last one. Then... the third and final one i saw appeared near the orion star system, and this one was brighter than the first 2 i saw. It just moved across the sky and out of my point of view to where i couldn't see it anymore. This is the first sighting ive ever had of a ufo. It was so exciting to actually see it with my own two eyes. I strongly suggest you keep an eye on the orion belt at night and look for quick moving objects.

The thin structures around the star are the wires that are suspending a disk over the end of the telescope to block the star's light so we can see next to it. We are looking up the tube of a reflector telescope.

I have downloaded the images of the triangular or pyramid shaped objects found by sw3bonny and posted by mikesingh on the bottom of page nine, I will do some research about them and get back to you in a couple of days.

It would be good to get some photos of the lights in the sky around Muphrid even if it turns out to be airplanes to see if that is what is being reported.

Thanks sos37 for your very informative post!
But the red leaks mentioned do not include these or do they?

Zoomed...

As the paper says:

There is a large dispersion in the red leak for the redder stars, caused by three effects:

* The differences in the detailed red leak response from column to column, beating with the complex red spectra of these objects.
* The almost certain time variability of the red leak.
* The red-leak images on the u chips are out of focus and are not centered at the same place as the u image because of lateral color in the optics and differential refraction - this means that the fraction of the red-leak flux recovered by the PSF fitting depends on the amount of centroid displacement.

In other words are those red objects nothing but stars displaying a red leak? And for another, are these stars (the red ones shown in the image above) visible in other programs? If not, then what are the implications?

Cheers!
