The democrats and republicans are both bought and paid for in Washington.

The American people have to wise up but like Hitler said:

"It's a fortunate thing for governments that the people don't think."

If you notice, both parties run the line that we need to invest in alternative fuels and technology. You can here the same thing in a BP commercial.

The fact is, some of these things are available right now.

The republicans want to drill and the democrats think high gas prices will stop people from driving and help the planet.

Some of these technologies are available RIGHT NOW.

Air Pressure Cars

Tesla Motors - Electric Cars

Ethanal powered cars

Hybrids, fuel cells and more.

My point is, these things can begin going into mass production tomorrow.

The government can give automakers a huge tax break if they make 50% of their inventory a combination of these kind of cars.

Will it solve the problem? No

Will it help us transition from oil? Absolutely

The people have to stop being democrats and republicans and become Americans first.

Both parties are corrupt and they are bought and paid for.

We can also look into things like Nuclear Energy.

If you read the post, you'd see it was about both the Democratic and Republican parties, not one or the other... So your remark is completely useless in regards to the topic. You don't have to be a democrat (or anything else for that matter) to support "Oil-less" technologies, you know.

EDIT: and just to clarify, I am not disputing the argument you just made about Democrats being responsible for high prices, but the OP basically said Democrats were guilty as well, but for different reasons... I will not concede that drilling up every bit of land in search of oil is any sort of solution (certainly not in the long run)... Regardless of how little concern one has for a certain habitat, it's still a fact that ecosystems are linked and they all affect eachother.
