To Eat...or Not To Eat?

Here's a little hypothetical question for you...

Lets say you are stranded on an island with a few other people and no food. After several days without food one of the others dies...
Another person points out that if you don't eat something soon, you will die. What do you do?

I'd be looking around for a very big rock. That and lots of firewood.

In the pirate world vernacular it is called eating "longpig." I'm guessing this was so they could hide what they did when it came to discussing it with people who did not know, who might then later become one of their invited to dinner.

I'd nibble here n there on everyone I could while fighting off their attacks with my awesome ninja skills

I am a survivor... With that said, I'd first try to fashion a fishing pole or spear. I'd then go fishing. If worse comes to worse, I'd do what would have to be done.

IF it came to that where he was the only food and was on the verg of dieing of starvation.
Yes I would eat him, but I would be pretty hesitant to do that.

And I liked the idea about fishing. And would try that first.

Having spoken with someone personally who had to resort to this very thing while deep in the jungle serving his country, I can honestly say..
NEVER would I even consider it.
It changes who you are.

well if you can't fish or find food in amongst the trees or even dig for worms or grubs (which I suppose you could use for fishing as well) If all else fails id eat a person.

Heck people are suposedly tasty. With over 6 billion of em on the planet Ill bet that I wouldnt feel too bad about scarfin down on some human.

I'd eat one of the other people. The dead one would go rancid pretty fast.

you're a source of food yourself. fingernails, urine, skin, hair and erm, well i won't say it but it has lots of protein. no one needs to die of starvation, just be creative.

Providing we could knock up a fire, I would eat the liver and kidneys (wrapped in banana leaves) seasoned with some sea-salt, then go for a dip in the ocean.

At moonlight, I would return and have some below strength wine (considering they had been on the sauce the night previous) before settling for the night under the stars with my new found friend.

However, when all is said and done, we would all die of starvation and that human feasting would be for nothing.

I would eat without a second thought. I would expect anyone els to do the same. Once people get to a certain point they snap and well, if I was starving and there was nothing else to eat except a dead person...... thanks for dying first.

It would depend on the chances of being recued were. If I was certain I would be rescued in a few days or so and was really starving I would certainly chow down, man.
