Looking for a DVD and or Book...

I'm looking for a DVD series or Book that could arguably be called a "complete" history of human civilization. Something vibrant and colorful that is easy to digest but still tells the complete story from the earliest known humans (Sumer, Africa etc..) to the present day.

So something that covers every war, migration, colonization, expansion etc.. Like I said preferably with illustrated diagrams and something the layman could enjoy.

I'd imagine if it were a book it would be a massive hardcover kind of thing, that's what I'd like. If it were a DVD series, all the better.

I have learned so much from them! Her PhD is in ancient Greek history, but she does a wonderful job with the Romans.
