The Compressed Gas Injection Knife

It is probably for underwater killing.

This is a takeoff on a weapon used during WWII in the straights of Gibraltar when they called divers Frog Men.

They were the original scuba divers, before the scuba name.

The Nazis were diving and planting mines on passing ship hulls with mini subs more like torpedoes you ride. The allies reinforced the instincts of Porpoises to bump humans in the belly. They mounted a syringe with a CO2 canister on the Porpoises nose, Bump Bump and the Nazi diver floats to the surface, and you know you scored a kill.

The had actual underwater battles like in the James Bond movie. Just the though of that give me the willies.

You're getting a bit confused here. SCUBA and frogman were both used at the same time, in WWII.

The bit about dolphins is derived from myths about the US Navy's Marine Mammal program which didn't start until much later. The Navy deny they ever used dolphins for lethal force, and there's no actual evidence that they did:

I love this kinfe! What a great idea. I mean, if you ever needed to use a kinfe on a person or animal in self defense, you do intend to kill it/him right? This simply helps you get the job done a little more efficiently.

BTW, This would be easy to make in a spike version. It would be easier to drill a small hole in a long spike and attach the spike to a handle which keeps a small C02 canister inside. I don't know, maybe it's just easier to buy one or maybe 5 of these beauties.

I wonder if you need a permit to cary one of these in Georgia. It's not a gun. Maybe they can make a kinfe that is an electro-shock device as well. Instead of a co2 cartredge in the handle, you could have a large battery and some electronics so that when you stab something in self-defense, 1,000,000 volts of electricity is delivered directly to the internal organs.

What do y'all think about that?

The "shark gun" in LALD was loosely based on the Farallon Shark Dark - and there was indeed a version which could be fired from a speargun.
Not very effective though, and the WASO injection knife is likely to go the same way.

Now i do remember seeing a documentary where the us navy had trained a dolphin to stab enemy scuba divers, The dolphin had a co2 canister attached to its nose with a large needle that injected the co2 into the enemy, whether it was used though was not said.then there was the Russian "automatic knife" that literally shot its blade out of the handle via a hefty spring, though its noted it was unpractical and a danger to operate/load.

I mentioned the dolphins a while back - the US navy denies that they ever used dolphins to ttack people, and there is no good evidence that they did.

If you look up "ballistic knife" you'll see that there are a lot of knives that fire a blade. The Russians also have a special forces knife that can (silently) fire a single bullet.

Not a nice way to go admittedly, but then again, how many weapons are a nice way to go? Is there even such a thing as a nice way? I think dead is dead, whether thats via a gas pumping knife, or a DU tank shell splattering cm sized bits of body all over the place! Either way, not nice.

interesting weapon the only time i used mine was spear fishing for 150 lb Grouper.

I found that it did not blow the fish up

It was claimed to inflate a foot ball size bubble in a shark.
But that is on the surface.
at 100 feet it made maybe a baseball size bubble.
Still it did work to stop the Grouper after it had dragged me around for 10 minutes. I had speared it with my spear gun dart and had to use the shark dart i carried for sharks to finely stop it.

The freezing of the tissue slows down the effectiveness because it stops blood loss and pain.
from what i see of the knife the CO2 will exit the wound along the sides the blade and not stay in the body this will freeze the wound and stop blood loss.
the sharp edge if a knife tends to make a long thin wound and always bigger then the cross section of the blade.

After that i went to a 12 gauge bang stick.

...especially for the user! You need to get a few feet between youself and the cartridge underwater or you lose your eardrums. That could happen with some more powerful bang sticks even at arms length IIRC.
