Terror is gripping residents of haciendas in Brgy. Sag-ang, La Castellana, Negros Occidental, following the reported existence of a man-sized creature, who recently attacked two residents and disemboweled animals in the area.

Elias Galvez and Salvador Aguilar reported to Mayor Alberto Nicor and the police that they were separately attacked by a “hairy creature with long nails”, on Monday and Tuesday nights in Cabungbungan, Brgy. Sag-ang, La Castellana

Residents on alert vs 'wild monkey'

Mayor Alberto Nicor said 'amomongo' is not a witch or 'aswang' but a wild animal. He theorized it is not remote for an 'amomongo' to live in Sag-ang, considering that the area is at the foot of Mt. Kanlaon.

He added the animal may have been suffering from hunger. "This is one possibility because there may be no food now in the mountain. Or it might be that 'amomongos' habitat has been disturbed by humans, thus, it runs wild."

I think its a sasquatch/bigfoot; either its a juvenile or creatures really are smaller in smaller islands/landmasses. For the creature's sake, I hope it is one of those skinwalkers because they have formed lynch mobs to hunt & kill it.

In Locust Grove, Okla, back in the 30's during the Depression, there was an area people dubbed Tent City, where several homeless familes created a community. They had several accounts of people being drug off and murdered by small size gnome-like creatures. This was near Spring Creek on the Illinois River and the bodies would be found by the creek where they'd been butchered and apparently their "meat" taken. In fact there are still unsolved murders in the area and people still claim to see these creatures. This was very near the camp where three girl scouts were dragged from their tents and murdered in the 70's. www.kfor.com... Some people think the "creatures" did it, it is common folklore in the area. I live about 40 miles from the area, we go there in the summer to spend the day at Spring Creek, it is beautiful and the water crystal clear, but we always leave before dark. Everyone does.

It would seem the creature was injured & wounded by one of its alleged victims with a samurai. It fled bleeding.

The barangay of Sag-ang in La Castellana, Negros Occidental, located at the foot of Mt. Kanlaon , is now virtually a “ghost barangay” during night time because a man-sized creature called by residents an “amomongo”, has been attacking residents in the area, police said.

The latest victim was identified as Eric Lasita who said he was attacked by the dark hairy creature Sunday night in Hacienda Cabubungan 3, Brgy. Sag-ang, La Castellana.

PNP examines creature’s blood

Blood samples of a creature that has attacked three persons and disemboweled about 50 animals in Brgy. Sag-ang, La Castellana, were submitted to the PNP Crime Laboratory for examination yesterday.

Sag-ang Brgy. Capt. Rudy Torres said the result of the examination will determine if the creature terrorizing his constituents is an animal, or a human being.

The man-sized dark hairy-creature was hacked several times after it attacked Eric Lasita in Hacienda Cabungbungan 3, Brgy. Sag-ang, La Castellana, Sunday.

I hope it comes back conclusive one way or the other so this matter can be put to rest.

Whatever the creature be, I hope it will not be summarily executed, as we need to understand what they are, and how they impact our environment. We cannot gain answers by killing the creature.
