So how do you go about making sense of that?

Just trying to find common elements. I believe this puzzle to be related to the TMWST cryptogram.

just for further records, I added the wiki page in my signature
i think we all could add in there for any further people coming into the game.

so does anyone know if we will have anymore fun or practice round games?

I think this is a fabulous idea! I worked on the wiki for a long time last night, and am going to put in some more time tonight, but it's got a long way to go. I'm hoping to get it up to date before the actual game begins on the 8th

If I do anything over there that pisses someone off, or if there's a better way to do things, go for it! Anyone can edit the page, and I'm finding it's not that difficult once you get the hang of things. Or, if you don't want to change it yourself, leave a note on the "discussion" page, or u2u me (can I get u2u being a brand new member? I'm not sure).

Personally, I can't imagine anything more valuable than a giant beanbag lounger.

A bit too easy...

Here's the solution:

CONGRATULATIONS, YOU HAVE DISCOVERED THE SECRET MESSAGE
THE MEANING OR FIRE IS TO GIVE FIRE MEANING.

Yeah, I know it was easy. But it was actually supposed to be: "The meaning of LIFE is to give LIFE meaning".

Or: "The meaning of WIFE is to give WIFE meaning". That works, too.

Ya, I guess that would make much more sense.

Barbadel popped it into an online cryptogram solver, no doubt. The cheater.

Actually, that one was two ciphers in one, so I figured that when someone put it in a solving program and they saw it come out as gibberish they'd panic for a while. Barbadel saw right through that in a hurry, though.

I think we're in good shape for the 8th.

yea i know it will be great, unlike the .html past we have lived in, of scrambling through google and so on, we actually will and can awesomely work as a team, we all have great abilities in detailed areas and pretty much alright all around, but as a team we each can be great in what we do best, not saying we will place people in certain orders, but it would be awesome to achieve the games end in a team, i mean winning for yourself it must be cool, but the .html let just a one poster win big ya know. so who knows id trade any prize to work alongside you guys to just to say we figured an ats game as a team.

but in it all lets see what the 8th brings

For those of you that have just come in or have missed anything, i posted a quick review a couple of pages back.

The review also contains a list of the letters that have been missing from previous puzzles. It is not updated as far as the most recent clue but as far as i can tell there havent been any new missing letters. As i have seen on the TinWiki page there is a section for missing letters that has yet to be filled out. From my post it could be a big jump start for whoever has been editing the site (im horrible at those things).

Good luck and the TinWiki page has been a good idea. To all that have contributed to it, I give you my applause.

This is the post POST

The speed in which the new code was broken was outstanding! Well done Barbadel.

Still no progress on the scattergraph then. I can't wait for friday.

The game is afoot Holmes.

P.S. Nice one for sorting the tinwiki page, excellent job!

Has anyone tried connecting the dots?

Sorta looks like numbers to me. Anyone else?

I see 1, 5, 2, 7, 1, 1

Honestly, I think you have been staring at the dots too long.

I've tried working backwards on the dot puzzle: assuming that the next-day image (not a puzzle) was the solution we were supposed to find, and looking for various ways that the numbers 828201 (the post id) or 80897 (the thread id) could have been encoded; but no luck.

I think this puzzle is unique. It specifically states that you need to understand it to play the game to its fullest; just like the TMWST cryptogram.

It is logical to group like dots together. There must be a reason why the dots are ever so slightly different. The filename clue of "THE PUZZLES" leads me to believe that there is a substantial potion of this puzzle wrapped up in these dots. Even the clue about "simple dots" was reiterated.

There is motion with the dots. The spacing is not consistent. All of these things must have a reason. I've thought of things like, slopes, morse code, braille characters, constellations, musical notes, etc.. but no joy as of yet.

Also, why is the y-axis dashed and the x-axis isn't?

Also, most of the recent puzzles filenames have been codes. The filename of the current image is ikmtgvesc.gif. Has anyone been working on this? I converted the letters to numbers and the first two, I and K is 9 11.

I don't know if this is of any significance or not, but am trying to see if the filename is a clue/code.
