I hope you all realize that 'FOX news' is actually the propaganda wing of the Republican party right?

Take anything they say with less than a grain of salt, because EVERY STORY they run is based on the political agenda and ideology of the stations owner, Murdoch, who is about as conservative as they come.

As a journalist-in-training, we are shown FOX as the example of what not to do in journalism. They have NO journalism ethics, they don't report news, they simply regurgitate whatever their masters tell them to.

They slandered the hell out of Kerry last election, and they'll slander Obama this election.

Watch Outfoxed if you haven't, because once you have, you'll never watch FOX 'news' again.

"Fox news" is an oxymoron, but if they called it Fox Propaganda people might wise up. Or maybe not, it's core demographic is probably too drunk to make out more than a visual blur and the buzzwords anyway.

And let's face it, the black population of the US has had, and in a lot of cases, still has a tough break. It's not racism or antipatriotism to tell it like it is, so get used to it if she makes it to the white house. There is a lot that still needs to be done to integrate the white and minority populations in the USA, and that is the reality of any post colonial nation. It's our reality in portugal for example, and in a lot of europe.

It's a hard process, people are bound to have some bitterness after the racial history this world has had. So give her a break.

Fox news called referred to Michele Obama as Obama's Baby Mama. Fox news is not holding back. I give 2 thumbs up for Fox News. Michele Obama is plume crazy with racism. She makes some of the most absurd comments in her speeches. Here is the link to the story.

www.salon.com...

The same new channel that linked Iraq to the terrorists who attacked america? The same news channel that claimed there was WMD's in Iraq? How about the same news channel that never touches republican politicians or the one that has their reporters kissing up to Bushes ass. Yes Fox news must be trusted when their attacking a democratic candidate!

Anybody who trusts fox news surely must be blocking themselves to the truth. Michelle Obama isnt any racist, this is just more of this conservative propaganda, the "lets accuse them of being racist so they cant point" tactic. Its used all the time and its getting old.

People like you will never understand the history of what blacks have gone through and how bitter people are. White rural americans are not the only ones who are bitter ya know? Blacks have been bitter for generations, sure there are those opportunists who lie and use this fact the their advantage but the truth is most blacks are bitter and I dont blame one bit. Ofcourse most people couldnt care less, people will exploit any situation just to keep things the way they are.

I would agree that Fox news leans right, just as most of the other news channels out there lean left. If you've deluded yourselves into believing that somehow Fox news is propaganda and all of the other news sources are not, then you're falling right into the trap. Every major news source out there is privately owned and they all have a bias one way or the other. The fact is that we need a fox news out there to present the other side of the issues so that we can make our own decisions.

Remember, there's three sides to every story. Your side, my side, and the truth. This is also true in the news...somewhere between fox news & CNN is the truth, it's up to you to use your brain to deduce what it is.

I agree. Most blacks do seem to be bitter...most of the racism I see comes from the minority side. The reason why this angst still exists to this day is because of the teaching of churches like the very one the Obamas attend.

Why do little white men like yourself like to comment on racial things they know nothing about?

Is it just to try to sound smart?

The funny thing about all of this is that it would be a completely different issue if it was a white man with a racist white wife. Just imagine what would happen if Obama was white and there was evidence popping up everywhere that Michelle had KKK & neonazi ties and had exposed her racist views in a public forum many times. I guarantee he would be unelectable and removed from the ticket. Since we're talking about a black guy and his black wife they're given a pass. Why?

I wish there was a way to give a megastar or something that counted for 10+ stars.

You nailed this exactly! If this were the other way around, a white candidate would have already been forced to resign. Heck, look at Geraldine Ferraro. All she said was the truth and Obama's campaign CALLED on her to resign.

It's exactly this double-standard that Obama strategized to take advantage of. Any criticism of Obama = racism! Any racist remarks made by Obama or Michelle O. = intellectual analysis of race in America.

It's typical liberal nonsense.

Agree with Blue Triangle here. The problem with the news media ..all of them ...is that the American Public is not as left leaning as some would like to assume we all are. Translate that ...more of us have not bought into the pre assumed default settings to play through unaccountable or unquestioned...by default. To default through so to speak.

I dont like certain Fox News Formats...Sean Hannity for one nor this woman Greta. I do however agree with some of the posters here that the left leaning media had the monopoly to themselves unquestioned for years and years. Fox news has measured and calculated correctly that an important portion of the American public is ignored and left by the wayside..deliberately and with Malice in mind by this left leaning media. For once they have competition and they have had to change their formats to survive. The newspapers in this country have taken a beating too. Its about time.

Concerning Obama's Wife...Michelle..I am concerned that we are not just electing him...but also as in previous administrations ...electing his wife too. I suspect that in the future this will become a noticable trend line.
America elected Bill Clinton to the office of presidency..not his spouse, Hillary. Yet Bill Clinton had the brass and gall to appoint her to the head of a group to oversee and push a future public Health care program for all of us. An unelected person. I see this as becoming a problem in the future with many elected officials. In otherwords ..the office will be usurped..hijacked...the public duped as to what or whom they are electing.
Buckle up people. We are going to need it.

I also suspect that if Obama is elected ...there will be a total shake up of the Secret Service protection detail. Not at his insistance..but hers.
I just see certain tell tale evidences that Michelle runs him...not the other way around. Hence this fingerprint will spill over to the office of President.
Hence..who are we really voting for here...is there a stealth candidate on the ticket?

Racism is not a default to play through unaccountable or unquestioned.. There has been a very onesided view of racism in this country and particulary by most of the media.. for years and years now. It is obvious to those still capable of independent thought ..that there is a cottage industry living and subsisting on the ability to intimidate most of the public to at least neutrality on this topic while others play throught unquestioned and unchallanged. At least Fox News has the courage to point this out. For this I salute Fox News. The proof of this cottage industry is that it took a presdential election for the Jeramiah Wright buisness to be made public otherwise they would have continued to play though unquestioned...unchallanged...yet a US Senator gets a free pass to play through on association with such obvious racism. No one questions it or such association.
I do not beliieve this would have been exposed for what it is if the field was still under the dominance of the left leaning media. This story would never have seen the light of day. Had Obama not been running for the office of President ..I dont believe this would have been made public informations.

When Fox news questions this double standard and the cottage industry on racism tactics..they are often branded racist or extreme right wing. I fault the American Public for this type of ignorance as it has been carefully cultivated and programmed into them by the Media, Public Education, and the Body Politic in order to cultivate a predictable, controllable, malliable, gauranteed voting electorate. This intimidation tactic has not worked to the extent desired by social engineers but buckle up here too. Someone will be working on it. The American Public needs to be made aware that this is the motivation for such programming.
The amount of emotional jag as evidenced in this thread is to me proof of this control string/mechanism and lack of independent thought.

Beware of whom and what you are electing. Dont just look at the race but look further. Also be able to measure the spouses of the elected officials. This will become obvious on future electons. IF some of you dont understand this concept you are deluding yourselves. The Clinton Administration clearly paved the way for this scrutiny. Some of you are still asleep here. If a Candidates spouse is dumb enough to open thier mouth...they need to take the scrutiny that comes with it ...not expect to default through unquestioned. It a candidates spouse is dumb enough to open their mouth in a certain manner...it becomes obvious to me whom or what we are electing....their spouse...and a stealth candidate.

Thanks,
Orangetom

humans are so polarized now that it's hard to understand what could bring us back together as one peaceful and God loving society, "hard to understand" of course does not mean "impossible to understand" as always answers have been given to us if one is willing to seek

The problem is, Fox doesn't just 'lean' to the right. It's outrageously biased in ways that other new agencies simply are not.

It's so horribly distorted that often my jaw drops, as I simply cannot believe it. This is not a subtle thing folks!

It's as if they took to heart every lesson of 1984, Orwellian doublespeak and tossed in a little Edward Bernays. It's very clearly slanted proganda, not just a news agency 'balancing' against the presumed left of all the other media sources.

Labeling their newcasts, "Fair and Balanced" when it's clearly NOT, is sinister genious, like using the phrase "War is Peace".

Take anything they say with less than a grain of salt, because EVERY STORY they run is based on the political agenda and ideology of the stations owner, Murdoch, who is about as conservative as they come.

Maybe you should ask your journalism professor to explain this:

Carlsbad, CA -- Tonight at the "All Things Digital" conference sponsored by the Wall Street Journal, Rupert Murdoch -- Chairman of News Corp, new WSJ owner, and longtime torchbearer for conservative politics -- said this about Barack Obama: "He is a rock star. It's fantastic" "I love what he is saying about education." "I don't think he will win Florida.....but he will win in Ohio and the election". "I am anxious to meet him." "I want to see if he will walk the walk."

www.huffingtonpost.com...

And I'm sure you're given more than Fox News as examples of what not to do. Be honest. Because if you're not, you're getting screwed out of a good education, and instead being brainwashed by a faculty with an agenda.

Sorry to digress, but can someone explain why such emphasis is being put on Mrs. Obama? What does having her in the White House have to do with anything? She doesn't get to make decisions does she?

Why is such an emphasis put on the First Lady, when she is a completely un-elected person? In other countries you'll see a Presidents wife by their side from time to time, but that's pretty much it. They don't get involved in anywhere near the level First Lady's are involved in the US because there just the wife, and that's it. Is anybody's vote here going to be swung by who the First Lady might be? Does anyone else think someone's appropriateness for a job should involve their wife and family?

MSM is all corrupt, whether it leans right or left is imaterial. What really hurts is not what they say, it is what they chose to censor. That is the real conspiracy. Leaning right or left is just sand in the eyes so people stay ignorant on the real issues, and at the very top of them is monetary policy and commercial banking, where a small number of private citizens can have more influence than all the government of a country.

Presumably you are referring to this portion of the transcript:

'RUSH: Interesting, one of the writers at the Limbaugh Letter, Katherine Ernst, just sent me the most fascinating thing. Her subject line is, "Hey dude." What boss, I ask you, ladies and gentlemen, would smile when an employee addresses an e-mail: "Hey dude." I smile. "I distinctly remember this because I'm from Illinois. When Obama won his Senate seat in 2004, at the victory party, Michelle introduced him to the crowd as 'my baby's daddy.' And she did so rather excitedly. I grabbed the transcript off Nexis." Here's an excerpt from CNN. Blitzer: "We can take a look. Maybe he will and maybe he won't, but she looks like she's about to introduce him. Let's listen in." Michelle Obama, wife of Barack Obama, and in the middle of her glowing, excited introduction of her husband, Barack Obama, she said, "My baby's daddy, Barack Obama! Yeah!" She introduced her husband as "my baby's daddy." Barack Obama, senator-elect, Illinois: "Thank you, Illinois. Thank you. Thank you, Illinois."'

I think you (and Rush) might be overlooking the context. The somewhat pejorative slang "Baby Mama" or "Baby Daddy" consistently lacks a possessive ("Baby's Mama", "Baby's Daddy"). I think what's more interesting here is having an awareness of the speaker context, however. There are a number of things an African American can say to another African American without being "out of line" which a person of another ethnicity cannot acceptably say because the context is different. This is a phenomenon you also see in inter-sex versus intra-sex communications. It's not unusual or exceptional here, but you (and Rush) appear to be unaware of it or uninterested in acknowledging it. One could make a good argument that it's a sign of deep division in our society and not at all healthy, but that doesn't disarm that it's a fact of life today and that it adds meaning which should not be overlooked. Even if you disagree with the significance of the context (who is referring to whom), you can't really argue that there isn't a difference between "baby mama" (pejorative slang) and "baby's mama" (affectionate descriptive).

Not to sound suspicious, but do you post these things figuring people aren't going to read the source with a discriminating eye? Just asking.

What a complete idiot this guy is.

Black people in America have been downtrodden, hung from trees, executed by police and generally had a ridiculously hard time of it. Oh! one tenuous link with a preacher who has more right than most of us to bare ill feeling against the white race and suddenly we have the right to call black people racist?

I know that 51% of the American population is beyond hope but the other 49% need to start taking issue with pathetic ignorant arseholes like the guy who posted this crap.

Sincerely,

Danbot

Yea that will work. Lets put someone in the white house that will tank our economy worse than it is already, drag out a war no one wants to be in, and alow our companies to downsize and move even more jobs overseas. Thats the ticket

Heck if we wanted that we should just let Bush run again.

She IS running for president!!! I could easily argue that the first lady has just as much power as the president does, maybe more. At the end of the day, it's the spouse that the president goes home to and the spouse has the last word on issues. There are even stories about how Eleanor Roosevelt ran the country while her husband was ill.

hmmmm...where should I start...you are comparing the Obama's former church to the KKK and Nazis??? Last time I checked Pastor Wright's church had nothing whatsoever to do with lynching my Black ancestors or snuffing out the lives of my Jewish cousins....do you have some different information that I should be looking at?....Cause last time I studied the issues the folk who did those those things were most definitely not Black....so I must conclude that your argument is complete BS with and emphasis on the S..

So your wife tells you what to do on your job?

Come one, that's such a stereotypical and cliche statement, you can't think for yourself? The way to keep your marriage happy is to do what your wife says and never think for yourself?

You think Mrs. Bush has more power than VP Cheney? More power than the Secretary of Defense? More power than Condoleeza Rice?
