Two huge footprints were found in Daro in Borneo. Their size... 47 inches long by 17 inches wide. Now if it this "Bigfoot" has the same proportions as a human, that makes it up to 13 feet tall...?!

Villagers have no explanation for giant footprints but businessman says proof is in the pudding

DARO: Villagers here are reeling from the shock of discovering two extra large footprints near the fence of a nearby orchard.

Source with Pics

Considering the size of Borneo vs. the possible size of the creature, the fact that there are only two "footprints" and the actual prints (their shape and depth isn't quite right) makes me the doubting Thomas.

Interesting enough these are not the first such prints in the area...

“The villagers also told me that it was not the first time that they saw such mysterious big footprints in their village. In fact, the first time they saw such big footprints was about 50 years ago.”

Interesting find Gemwolf!
As desribed by your post this was one tall person/bigfoot...

I am sure that they can be able to follow these tracks due to its size of it, grass or plants that has been trampled by its footprints. Look at the vegitation in the image you shown, the foot prints direction is in that way!

Snapped a twig or branch along the way!!

Awfully shallow for such a huge creature. My bogus alarms are busily chiming.

At first glance I must say I was impressed. My calculations of the beast is 38 feet in height, with a total weight of 6 tons. But once I began to analyze the image further, doubts crept up and something was certainly amiss. Explain to me how a 38 foot creature weighing 6 tons could step on that pool stick and not break it?

This gentlemen, is your smoking gun.

If you look closely at the start of the heal in the print, its raised up. Almost as if it was made like a sand castle.....

I dont think a natural footprint would leave this raised impression, unless it was rainy and muddy then dried up, but I still dont see that in the footprint.

I vote bored attention seeking hoaxers!

Thanks for the thread!

Edit to add some logic:

Upon further inspection, shouldn't their be other footprints? Why, in a place full of the same sand as in the picture. Logic would tell you there would be more than just two footprint.

This is the only thing that gets me....

50 years ago is a long time.....

Considering the picture, I believe that someone was possibly re-creating a story told by an elder. The footprint is too odd for it to be real. Footprints leave prints, they wouldn't leave a crater-like impression in the ground, unless this bigfoot jumped from a tree or something.

So I guess there could be an element of truth to this story!

Just a thought...

Two footprints, not sure if there are more. I think that the "pool stick" was put there to illustrate the length of the footprint. This part seemed odd to me though.

The villagers are now clearing up the footpath leading to the large footprints in anticipation of more people coming to have a look at the footprints.

Could this be a ploy to lure tourists looking to ooh and aah over bigfoot's supposed footprints? Anyways, the truth is out there. Somewhere.

Why does it look like the impression not sunk that deep for something that would weigh like 18000pnds?Esp it look muddy there.FAKE!

I call foul on this one and this is why.

If your standing and walking like the footprints are laid out, the second footprint, the one with the kids all around is from the right foot. Meaning that the left foot would have to have landed near by. If you look behind the kids there seems to be a really small stream or whatever liquid would be there. This in turn indicates that the ground would have been moist enough to capture more than just 2 footprints. Even if the foot landed in the vegetation behind it, there would have been some type of vegetation damage due to such a heavy object moving through it. Hell I leave a clear path in my backyard walking through the grass when its wet, now if I was 13 feet tall weighing more than a ton I’m pretty sure I would leave my mark better. As for it being a hard ground, without analysis, the ground looks like dirt clay that would easily capture any footprints if moist enough. Plus the fact that this happened near an orchid grove where it would need to be watered and the evidence of the mud behind the children, would take me to believe this is false. The article also states that the villagers are in the process of cleaning up the prints to let other visitors view them. I find this pretty self evident that it is a false report only to promote a “tourist attraction” and donations; you see the donation blanket in one of the pics.

I remember seeing some years ago on youtube i think it was on how to make a plaster mold of a foot so you could fool many people into thinking that it was a big foot

But the world is a big place and we don't know every thing that goes on

Has anyone noticed how the size of the creature has gone up from thirteen feet to fourty in the course of the thread?

Looks like they are calling Shenanigans on this one....

“It’s man-made and a hoax,” Sarawak Museum anthropologist Dr. Charles Leh said yesterday while dismissing news reports that the two sets of footprints found in a village in Mukah division were those of “Bigfoot”,

As many of you have already hit on....

Leh said the footprint measuring 119cm from heel to toe and 43cm across, indicated “Bigfoot” must weigh more than 200kg.
“But the impression was too shallow for something weighing more than 200kg.

It also states in the breif examnination of the find, that its a puzzle why the creature went over the fence and not walked around it.

The berm around the footprints leads me to believe they are hoaxed. What were they thinking?

This may be 'what they were thinking'.... (from the article)

He said the hoax may be an attempt to attract people to Daro.

.... and it may be working.

Thousands of people have flocked to the small Melanau town to get a glimpse of the footprints since word of the find began spreading a week ago.

I Say Hoax, If Its 40 ft tall, then why doesn't it ever get seen? I doubt that something this big could hide so well. Hmm...

Judging by the depth of the footprint, and that there is a lack of depth at the heel or ball of the foot, where the weight would be distributed as it walked, I say poorly constructed hoax. Unless of course the creature walks on totally flat feet and weighs about the same as a bowling ball.

Shennanigans!

Why would Bigfoot attempt to measure his own footprint?

He wasn't, whoever was taking the picture put it there for reference. If you look closely at the picture, you can clearly see the lime green housing for the tape measure, complete with the little black cord, so you can put it round your wrist...
