Hey all, recently I asked my best friend(who usually sees eye to eye with me on all major issues)what he thinks about Obama. He said he is a "racist,America hating man."He also said he will not vote for Obama unless Clinton is his running mate. I fear that may be the thought of a lot of Americans and while I think Obama is a much better choice than McCain, I fear he(McCain) will be elected due to the majority of Clinton supporters who say they will vote for McCain.I hope this is not the case and these voters don't let their anger get the best of them and they do what is right for the country,we will see.

So what do you all think?

Is Obama a racist?

Does Obama hate America?

Does Obama have 'secret' plans to destroy America?

Thanks all for your intelligent and mature responses!

No to all three. There is no evidence that any of those are true.

As regards people not voting for him unless Clinton is his running mate, I don't understand that. Why would they vote for someone they think is a racist, American-hater bent on destroying America, NO MATTER WHO his running mate was? That doesn't make sense at all. To me.

Racist? Yes.

"... .. The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn't. But she is a typical white person who, uh, if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know there's a reaction that's been been bred into our experiences that don't go away and that sometimes come out in the wrong way and that's just the nature of race in our society. We have to break through it..." - Senator Barack Obama

Not only does he call his grandmother a typical white person, he claims her reaction has been "bred" into her.

Not sure if that's racist? Try switching "black person" for "white person" and talk about what black people have had "bred" into them and see how fast you'd be labeled a racist.

Hate America? Plan to Destroy America as we know it?

"We can't drive our SUVs and, you know, eat as much as we want and keep our homes on, you know, 72 degrees at all times, whether we're living in the desert or we're living in the tundra and then just expect every other country is going to say OK, you know, you guys go ahead keep on using 25 percent of the world's energy, even though you only account for 3 percent of the population, and we'll be fine. Don't worry about us. That's not leadership." -Barack Obama

Obama certainly seems to have no problem criticizing Americans who have the audacity to drive SUVs, set their thermostats to 72, and eat as much as they want.

I don't know if that qualifies as hatred or not, or if he plans to destroy America or not. That said, it would seem he plans to destroy, or at least drastically change the American way of life that includes deciding what temperature to set your thermostat, what to eat, and what type of car to drive.

If the way I talk about immigration is to be taken as racist then I will be called a Latino hater, but guess what I am Latino too.

Opinions and talks about issues is not in any way to be taken as the basis to deem somebody a racist or hater.

His pastor is an angry black man, IMO. Probably with good reason. But we only saw a few seconds of this man's views. We are each better than the worst thing we ever do. Unfortunately, for some, that "worst thing" gets put on YouTube and played over and over. There's more to the Reverend Wright than his angry rantings.

Secondly, Wright is not running for president. Obama is. I will not judge Obama for a few seconds of angry ranting by a public figure whose job it is to excite people in a dramatic way.

I have people in my family AND friends that I would be embarrassed for the public to know that I associated with them because of some of the ignorant things they have said. But they are my friends and family and I love them, even though they aren't perfect.

The "Obama is a racist" propaganda campaign is almost funny...

His mom is white.

Are we supposed to think he "hates white people" when he's half white himself, and half his family is?

What's he going to do, punch himself in the face?

Half of him is going to pay reparations to the other half?

...

The Trinity Church controversy is great political theater for the Republicans, but that's all it is.
I know plenty of people who go to church, and I don't think any of them agree with every single word their pastor utters. The whole thing is absurd.

As far as "hating America" goes, well, he's dedicated most of his life to public service to America... seems paradoxical for someone who supposedly hates it.

He was a star graduate of Harvard Law school, and he could have made a lot more money in the private sector.

Instead he chose to go into public service.

Again, if he "hates America", he ought to punch himself out - as one of only 100 US Senators he is a major player in the US government already.

Yes, without a doubt.

I don't think he hates America, I think he hates the current state of America and it's place in the world. His plan seems to be to "redistribute the wealth" not only within the country but in the world.

I don't think his intentions are to destroy the country. However, I think that's going to be the result to an extent. His economic policies are bass ackwards and are going to seriously hurt the economy if implemented IMO. He's already admitted that he will raise taxes and this is going to push many, many American families off the proverbial cliff in the current economic climate.

If your pastor spent several minutes of every sermon spewing racist comments and indicating that the world would be a much better place if only "blackie" would go away...would you continue to attend? I wouldn't.

This is why I've said all along that there are only two possibilities here.
One, he's been actively attending the church for years and is a racist.
Two, he's not a Christian at all and only attended the church for political purposes. Which makes him a liar.
Either option brings his character into question.

JKrog, as an American Patriot, I would have thought you'd be one of the last people to vote for Obama. The guy is a somewhat racist, radical Muslm Marxist.

Get educated on Obama by reading the facts and figures below:

Except there's no evidence Wright "spent several minutes of every sermon spewing racist comments" - there's one video tape where he makes one or two comments some people have interpreted as "racist".

Frankly IMO, Wright's main point, that racism among whites has historically held black people back, is not only not "racist", it's utterly obvious to anyone with half a brain and a history education

Point me to anywhere where Wright has said whites should be exterminated or subjugated, and I'll buy the "racist" talking point. Otherwise you just have a typical inner-city black Protestant preacher preaching his own version of fire and brimstone Protestantism. Big freaking deal.

Hyperbole from the pulpit is nothing new

The "racist" thing is a scare campaign, pure and simple.

As is the traditional right wing scare campaign that any Democrat that gets elected will impose Soviet-style collectivism on their first day in office

Funny, we lived through eight years of Bill Clinton (frankly I was never a fan of the guy BTW), and we're still a very capitalist country. Somehow he didn't manage to turn the country over to Communism, although maybe that was his evil plan, as you guys kept telling me back then

And by the way, no Democrat in modern history has ever been as close to a "socialist" as FDR was, 70 years ago!

Believe it or not, there's a huge difference between a capitalist country with a welfare state, and state socialism, despite the rhetoric you guys pump out.

I suppose the church practicing Black Theology and principals (these principals are highly racist and believe White America is the enemy) which is stated in their creed, has nothing to do with the hate-filled sermons attacking Whites and America.

Oprah, she knew enough to leave that church.

Obama did not, his Wife did not.

This is unfortunately, the message people get with the YouTube thing. Tell me... if he actually does this, why do we keep seeing the same few minutes over and over? I'm bored with that one. Let's see some of the other racist hatred he has spewed over the years.

If several minutes of every sermon are racist comments, we should have HOURS to choose from... Where are they?

You need to look no further than the church's creed relative to Black Theology.

a) The church teaches separatism (black and white)
b) They teach black theology, not Christ Theology
c) The church honors and respects Islam and Muslims to the point they welcome Muslims to be members of the church and gave Louis Farrakhan an award for being the man who will unite the true Christian to the true Muslim to the true Jew. WHAT A CHRISTIAN CHURCH!
d) Why would Obama leave Islam to join such a church? He joined skillfully to cover-up, knowing that a Muslim in America would have little chance to become a senator or the president.
e) When you believe in Mohammad you deny Christ.

1) All black people are racist.

2) No I don't think he "hates" America, but his handlers the elite/nwo want the destruction of America and want a one-world government.

I cannot believe, with the access to information and education that we have in this country, that people still hold such ignorant beliefs.

a) Obama was never a Muslim.
b) The church DOES teach Christ Theology
c) Aw... It's not worth it.

Geeze, Master Bater, that is lame. I suppose by converting from Allah to God in aims of getting elected had nothing to do with it. I suppose that this was the only Christian front church that accepted Muslims as it professes.

Read about the Trinity Chruch and what it really stands for. To not do so, is being naive to say the least.
