Seems like every new member states that they have been on the board for a while, but have only recently become a member. How long did you lurk for?

Myself, about 4 months.

about one day; I was compelled to register in order to argue with seekerof about his "osama-saddam connection case closed" thread...then I just stuck around.

If I remember right, I think I started visiting a few time after 9/11. Lurked for a few months, then registered somewhere in 2002.

I didn't lurk nearly as much as most of the new members we get here have. I'd have to say I lurked for a few mins, and then registered.

The minute I saw the main page and subjects I registered. I knew I had to get into it. Its hard to find people to discuss with around here. Most of them are really stupid and close minded. Can't talk logic with a family of fundies anyhow.

i found ATS when i was in 8th grade. that was back in... 1998/99. i used it for a presentation i had to give for class. my topic was UFOs and government coverups. i still probably have it around here somewhere in paper format, actually. i don't think the boards were up then, but if i did i didn't join then (obviously). i refound the site at the end of january, and joined the 31st. i lurked for about two or three days, reading the science and aviation stuff and finally decided i wanted to participate.
