Child porn web broken by 70 arrests

www.smh.com.au

DOZENS of men have been arrested for child pornography and abuse offences - including community leaders, a police officer, a teacher and a youth worker - after the nation's biggest anti-pedophile investigation.

The six-month joint operation by the Australian Federal Police and state police forces uncovered several cases of child molestation and highlighted the astonishing way in which pedophiles form secret communities in cyberspace and use the global reach of the internet to trade child exploitation images.

Operation Centurion has uncovered a sickening development in Australia. So far there has been 90 Australians caught by this police string, with the number of people charged likely to rise!

This really is just the tip of the iceberg in a sobering investigation illustrating just how big child pornography is. I hope more governments around the world crack down on offenders in a similar manner!

Here in the UK we had operation Ore.

Sickening thing was the list of those caught is so long it will take 5, yes FIVE years to go through the list and prosecute every one on it.

Alot of people in high places looked pretty damned scared when that operation started.

Throw the book at them, and then throw away the keys.

Here in the US we have a show called "To catch a Predator." Of course that is about making msnbc money.. If they went about a sting like they did in Australia, I'm sure the number of arrests would be.. high.

Nearly every major city now has a taskforce of sorts useing online undercovers to nab these cretins. I've seen that show, at least one that was caught on camera committed Suicide. This is a very strange phenomena. I'm not sure if its a product of the ease with which the internet can be used by the sicko's or that it has been covered up in the past ,but i don't remember that many cases in my lifetime that where caught. I can remember when 'simple' porn was considered a crime. I think it still is in Canada. I remember seeing a trucker have his sleeper searched and they found a few books in it and hauled him off to jail. More power to the smart cops working these details. Its can't be easy to sleep spendig so much time listening to the absolute filth that can pop up on your screen hour after hour!!!

I will be interested to know how many and who the community leaders are, and what punishment exactly they will receive. Pedophilia/Pederasty is a global problem and I believe there to be a pederast warrior cult consisting of high level 'community leaders' in many nations.

No, it isn't.

So far of these 70 there has been 1 suicide and 1 failed suicide.
I am sorry but these people should not get off that easy!!!

My recommendation is long and slow torture with life support for many years.

Do you believe that kind of material should be illegal? I think people have all kinds of inner desires they think about or pursue in private. But I wonder if there is some weird chemical imbalance who makes people attracted to under age kids..... It just doesn't seem normal to me. The law is the law. Some laws don't make much sense to me, but this one definitely does! I hope they conduct more aggressive internet stings. There go more tax dollars for building more prisons and paying the salaries of more people at the department of Corrections!!

No, making porn illegal would only make it more expensive and more hard edged. People should be allowed to entertain themselves in the manner they choose as long as minors are not involved. What I meant was that I can remember when Playboy was the top of the line racey magazine. It was also not legal to sell in some states and was bootlegged to them. I agree something seems to be escalating in the child porn area. I never understood it nor do I want to. I just want it to be stopped in what ever manner it can be. I would volunteer to help if I knew where and how. I used to be an AOL volunteer in the old days. So I do know my way around a chat room and what to look for. Some one does need to monitor this problem. Not so sure if the government should get into it. Once in they never leave!

I think kiddy fiddlers should be castrated, plain and simple. I'm not talking about the college kid who gets caught with a high-school girl here, but the real hardcore sickos.

But the thing that really scares me about all of this right now, is how so many people are willing to go to ANY lengths to combat the problem. Terrorism on one side, child-porn on the other, and now we are left with no rights living in a nation of fear.

Imagine what would happen to you, if you were accused of being involved in something like this, even if you really weren't guilty.

I do agree though, something does have to be done.

Its this type of conundrum about where we draw the line that brings up the problem of good and evil in our world. Why is it we need to be in the middle of this. What put us there to begin with. How do we fix this. I'm realy at a loss to answer!

I think that legalizing prostitution would be a step in the right direction. Many child-molesters are not pedophiles. (And not all pedophiles act on their persuasion.)

Not all child molesters are pedophiles???
Now that is something new to me.
-------
It is my opinion....(after working for 10 yrs with SDP's, Pedophiles, and sexual psychopathic personalities) That this is not some new phenom.
It is a sexual orientation too. That is the scariest part of all.

I am certain that if these crack downs continue there will not be enough room to hold them all even if we spent 24/7 building prisons to hold them.

What I'm trying to say is that this isn't isolated to some freak backwards wired in the brain people..... Well, if you accept my opinion that pedophilia is a sexual orientation, then you can surmize just how many people that might include.

Are there any other, "experts" out here lurking that have reached a different conclusion?

That is correct. The offender may not have an outright desire for children, but finds them to be more easily victimized.

I happen to know of one scumbag personally that falls into this category. He molested my friend's little sister because he couldn't get laid with any of the girls in our high-school. Not because he has a thing for kids. She was a victim of opportunity.

I really don't mean to argue with you, since I sincerely believe that the information you got, even if from him directly is all you can go on.
It is a defense I have heard several times from a pedophile but it is a lie.
It is especially useful as a defense in court and to be allowed in society again. But I can't emphasize enough....It is a lie he told. (the age of the victim is very relevant I should point out I guess.)

Maybe if sex wasn't such a taboo, prostitution was not illegal, and we didn't prevent the young from exploring their sexuality more fully, they wouldn't grow up to become adult sexual deviants, having lost the ability to explore those needs because of prudish laws, parents or social mores in their learning years perhaps that desire never goes away or triggers some kind of permanent fixation that can never be fulfilled or repaired.

I often wonder if So many Priest became pedophiles, did they become Priest because they were attracted to children and saw that as an easy way to fulfill their desires or were children their only outlet and due to their repressed sexuality and inability to fulfill their natural programming, the children became the path of least resistance to complete that programmed function and thus their DNA programming along with their unnatural environment created by the church are both responsible for the monsters they became.

With so much of our population bent towards this type of behavior, I'm inclined to believe there's something wrong with our social morals, our upbringing and the fact that sexuality of children is plastered everywhere in the MSM.

The perp in this case made no such defense on his own behalf. I didn't come to that conclusion based on what he may or may not have told me.

Just because he molested a kid, does not necessarily mean that he is a pedophile. Just because I prefer blonds doesn't mean I won't get it on with a brunette, for example.

Not to be the devil's advocate here, but have any of you ever seen child porn? The world is supposed to be awash in it, yet I have never seen it online or anywhere else. Unless you are a fan of it or a law-enforcement type, how can you even know that it exists?

well there is the WTF post for this thread! does it even exist???????
Do pedophiles exist?
Did I spend 10 years working with "misunderstood" individuals?

I suppose I should chill and be encouraged that it isn't easy to find.

I would like to be there when you explain it to the police that you were just doing "research"

-------------------------------------------------------

If the kid was...I will throw out a solid age nice and far below the grey area. If the kid was 6 yrs old or less. The guy you know is a pedophile.
oh, and pedophiles never are busted on their first crime.

If you want to defend this guy fine, but to convince me of anything different you are going to have to give me the age of the victim...the circumstances are not important in the slighest, just the age.
