I would agree with that.

Except that this is what conservatives and liberals both strive to do.

They just have differences of opinions on how to get there.

Thats why the factioning exists. Difference of opinion.

If everyone just "agreed" then politics would just "be"
and there'd be no debate.

There'd be no need for elections, because if everyone agreed on it, then we'd all just take turns being in charge to agree on the same thing.

You speak of utopia.

Im talking about reality. I dont know if i'd agree with the OP entirely - but i think voting conservative OR liberal JUST BECAUSE you're a conservative or liberal is just plain dumb.
