Streak is meant to denote how many matches a Fighter has won in a row.

And not participating in a tournament will not cause your ranking to drop but you do run the risk of having the other Fighters increase their ranking.

It should be noted, however, that while the ranking system is meant to encourage even matches at the end of tournam ents, they are not the end all be all of what makes a Fighter or even why many of us choose to debate.

Many of us are here to participate in intelligent and most importantly organized discussion. We work on our rhetorical skills and learn new perspectives...including perspectives we may disagree with.

The Debate Forum is meant to be a learning experience for the Fighters and the readers...the ranking system is just a way to gauge experience in the forum proper and helps add a bit of good natured competition (and competition is a great motivator at times).

Hope that helps...and I do encourage you to read many of the other debates so as to cultivate your own style...which in the best case scenario should be evolving as you spend time here...

I see the point of the system. That means I will lurk around here for a while and after my semester gets over in four months time. I will make a back-to-back debate.

Is ding online now? She said she will post the opening soon. But there is no sign of her.
