Public Global UFO Detection Grid

Enthusiasts worldwide place a unit on their roof, the units form a global visual recording net. When objects are detected in sky the unit begins recording, tracks the object, zooms in, take stills, all in ultra high res. The data is sent to a central control server with a digital fingerprint to rule out fraud. Retail cost of the system 700-1000US. Large portions of sky are then monitored globally. Funding needed for central control facility + R&D to build the modules..

Why a central control facility? Central control is what got our societies into the mess they are in now...

I agree whats to stop a government taking control of this and confiscating the stills and telling the public through disinformation that the system doesn't work then secretly exploiting the results for there own gain right under our noses?
