Tempting fate/gods/demons/etc.

I'm sure all of us have heard stories about people who dabble in magic, demons, occult, etc. and they end up having something come back and harm them. I would like to know if anyone here has either a personal story or some source that points to something that isn't a fairy tale. I don't want Faust or anything, I would like a real life example of this happening.

I ask this question, merely because I've been completely letting go of my strict religious upbringing, and looking into alternate explanations of life. I have always been interested in magic, and would like to know if anyone knows of an actual event that has happened. I've seen all the "exorcism" videos on the net and stuff like that, just seems like people with a cognitive disorder, but no demons.

I would also like to know if there are any real examples of, for instance, someone losing their mind because they tried to summon a demon or something. If you don't want to post, just send me a message. I am very interested in this subject, so any information would be appreciated. Once again, before I temp fate/gods/demonds/whatever, I'd like to know if there's a concrete reason not to. Thanks. Peace out.

I have been told by a friend to not mess around with such things like spells of the occult. It can realy mess you up. Many of the rituals or spells\summonings etc are designed to give you a feeling of contact or success, but its mainly an illusion. But you are left with a feeling that is disturbing, and you might become paraniod and see\hear things.

This can in worst case lead to things like madness or suicide for some. I would think long, hard and critical before messing around with things that are designed to give you a scare.

I think it could be fun to try and see what may work, but be careful is all im saying. I have been spooked a couple of times, and left without answers for what i experienced. Its a haunting thought, and id rather be without it.

Ask yourself why you want to try it. Is it because you want to prove to yourself that they exist?

Would finding that answer be really worth the risks?

I would say that curiosity is what is leading me. The way I look at it is that paranormal activity probably doesn't exist, I'll continue to believe it might until I'm proven otherwise. I'm just asking if anyone has any actual experiences or knows of documented experiences with this type of phenomenon. I'm not saying I'm gonna go and try to summon Azazel or something, just wondering if there's any actual evidence out there other than tales of friends from friends.

I also do think that all knowledge has risks. You could drive yourself insane studying all the death and destruction that man as done to man. Once again, just curious about the topic. I also highly doubt that our ideas of demons and such are right, in the off chance that demons/angels/etc. exist. Just for peace of mind though, I have no plans to try anything occultish I'm just interested in the academic study of it and don't see the difference between studying occult and reading the bible, or learning anything new.

Thanks for the concern. I don't really believe in Satan, but I know what you mean. I do feel that there are two sides to all things though, thus if there is a "dark" side to occult matters there is a light side too. I'm just curious as to anyone's run ins with either side.

I spent 7 years in hospital because of such things which I do not think would be smart to detail further. You are on a razors edge. But in any case, you will do what you will do. I do not think you will take anyones experience as a satisfying answer. For you probably burn for the knowledge inside.

I would claim it isn't worth it, but who knows? Notice that dragon I have as my avatar? It's something I hate, but real. It's a subtle warning to those who understand those arts. But do not think you can do such things without the seers knowing, you will not have secrets.
