I want to start a thread on using your surroundings to help make life easier in a shtf situation.you have at your disposal several automobiles 5 4 cylinder cars 2 v6 's and a v8, you also have hundreds of tin cans available, a water heater, 4 open top 55 gal drums and one bunghole 55 gal drum, 50 feet of bandsaw cutters, a piece of silver, some lead, tin, 50# bag of salt, jumper cables, a huge assortment of drills, a 1000 gallon tank of propane. 3 inch wide steel tubes 15 feet long, 1000 watts of solar cells, old style television. various screws, and nuts, microwave oven, a leaf blower,and a 500 watt dc-ac converter, a led flashlight. and don't forget a chainsaw.

You must use your inventive mind to create usable devices out of the parts from
this stuff only.

What is a bunghole 55 gal drum?

Oh . . . and I would make an armored and armed RV.

Hmmm..
With those items..
I reckon I could make a small nuclear power station and a paddle steamer.

I need you on my team Agent_T! I don't even think MacGyver could do that.

could make a generator runnign atomic hydrogen
.maybe a raft, various weapons (bow, arrows, spears, throwing knives etc..)
could use the pipes for irigation, or hydroponics
set up a 4 cyclinder engine with a wind turbine to pump water
use the cooling hoses from the cars to make a still for fresh water
the propane not sure on that, possibly to run an engine for power until to you get more long term power sorted
if near a wiver, or large stream, a water wheel for power
solar, wouldnt rely on that, nuclear winter, or ise age= no sunlight
lots and lots with all that kit to be honest

You could use one of the cars as a distillation unit. you can make spirits out of ferment mash. If you think about it at idle a car eats up 30,000 watts most of this is wasted through the cooling system, drain the antifreeze and pour your beer into the car. Use the drums as a cooling tower.
or you can use the v8 truck cooling system to heat water for a jacuzzi. have it recirculate.

what about using one of the drums as a wood furnace?

I think you should have more common items to your list that you could find everyday anywhere.
Like who the hell has 50 pounds of salt, 1000 gallon tank of propane, 500 watt dc-ac converter, 1000 watts of solar cells, and 5 cars laying around.
And others are common but you wouldnt find them in a average home.
