Fox Pundit Wishes For Obama Assassination, Laughs

www.huffingtonpost.com

During a live interview, FOX Contributor Liz Trotta jokingly wished for the assassination of Sen. Barack Obama.

This latest incident from FOX News continues the trend in violent rhetoric about Sen. Obama from pundits, politicians, and entertainers.

Grinning While Joking About Killing A Candidate
The incident happen in an exchange with the FOX News anchor. When asked her opinion of the recent scandal surrounding some comments made by Sen. Hillary Clinton, which Trotta described by saying that, "some are reading [it] as a suggestion that somebody knock off Osama." Hemmer quickly corrected Trotta, having noticed that she had said "Osama" when she meant "Obama." At this point, Trotta said, "Obama. Well...both if we could!" Trotta then laughed gleefully.

This is just one more way Fox Media propagandizes the American public into associating Sen. Obama with a known terrorists; whom many believe is responsible for the 9-11 attacks on the WTC. We've all known how irresponsible Faux News enjoys being but this is too far. To wish for, on air no less, the assassination of a public figure is beyond reprehensible - even if your own political agenda is not in line with theirs. With these kinds of people representing the Republican party - no wonder they're in such trouble!

Hi WS. I saw the video on this and was just appalled. As someone who remembers very well the assasinations of JFK, RFK, and MLK, I find this in very poor taste. And she probably has no idea how she came across.

Now, the rest of the media is starting to pick up on this. Just in case you missed, here is the video:

It was a stupid statement, but one obviously intended to be a joke. Poor, poor judgement, but not something terribly concerning.

Note that the host chastized her with a 'tell us how you really feel' before quickly moving past the issue. He obviously wasn't condoning her remark.

Very clever. Very Sick!

Re-inforce the meme ("Mind-worm"):

Obama(Democrat, "liberal", non-white)=Osama(terrorist, enemy, deserving of death)

in the minds of a target audience; white, conservative, fearful

to inculcate the meme: Obama's death by assination is inevitable, and perhaps "For the Best".

The, when/if (but more likely-When) such a horror occurs, you have the perfect division of mass opinion into which agent provocatuers can inject catalytically violent "Instantces of destabilization": incitements to violence, by violent acts, designed to escalte into mass riots,

Likely as not, racially-skewed.

These "Planned violent outbursts" will be all that the government needs to impose "restorative order" through martial law provisions already approved by law.

Anyone who's spent time in the "Politicians & People" forum knows the anti-Obama hate campaign is in full effect - the far right is really terrified of this guy.

So far I've been told in all seriousness that he's a Marxist and a Black Muslim and that his purpose in running for President is to destroy America from within... they say this stuff about any Democrat in the news except Lieberman or Zel Miller, of course, but there's a really crazy edge to it this year - and I'm not naive enough to think it has nothing to do with race...

Nobody should be surprised by what this woman said.

It's part of a coherent strategy by the far right to polarize the country even further.

So when does the molehill become so large it's shadow darkens everything? I mean, for Christ's sake, I'd be more likely to believe that it was a joke had she said it on - NBC or ABC but because she said it on Fox I have to wonder if this wasn't just another example of their propaganda campaign. We've seen it from them countless times before - at some point, they have to be held responsible for that trash that they produce.

And besides, the only reason people think it was a joke was because she said it while laughing and smiling. Well, Hitler smiled when he ordered those Jewish kids to be boiled alive.
