Hi all,

Got myself an alto sax a year ago now, need to get some sheet music. Any one know where i can get some sheet music for jazz classics like 'summertime' by George Gershwin, Cannonball Adderley etc?

Thanks

Try a music store for a song book for either sax or piano. You should be able to play the piano score, treble clef.

Often you can find a book that has a collection of songs like those you requested.

If you mean on the 'Net, just google for sheet music, I s'pose.

*('Summertime' came up as the first image in a search for 'Gershwin sheet music')

I used to play clarinet, until my wife gave it away. No idea where it is now.

Great you have an Alto sax, Im also a player

Best bet is to ask in music shops, If they dont have it there will know someone who does so they may be able to get hold of it for you,
Try some free online sites aswell,

Here ya go...

google is your friend!!!

www.8notes.com...
www.brixtonpublications.com...
www.free-scores.com...

or you can find out what the pentatonic scale is, in every key and never have to worry about music again because you will be able to improvise over almost any song that's been written in the last 100 years.

Basically, when your cat starts catching mice to stuff in it's ears and your neighbours have stopped talking to you for some unknown reason..

Sax rocks..
