Here is what I have... This is a fast machine, mainly because of the video card, but also the dual processor.. A quad with the same bandwidth would twice as fast and a dual video setup would be much faster, but this is fast.. rated 5.5 in Windows experience... think 5.9 is highest rating...

Mine is simply.... strange. Unfortuantly I don't have any pics of it availiable. Mine is self made. P4 1.4 Ghz cpu, 640 meg ram, 20 gic c: drive, 120 gig D: drive, burner, dvd drive, sb live soundcard, ati Radeon 9000. Sounds pretty normal if not old right? Here's where it gets strange. It's a beige case with black vinyl flame stripes and my name done up in the same sticky vinyl used for road signs. I have a 6 inch diameter cooling fan from a mainframe computer mounted in the case. The cooling fan uses a seperate 12 volt power supply. I also have a pair of rabbit ears hooked up to it for my radio/tv tuner card. Old but strange.

My personal name for it is Tigger since it seems to violate a rule of physics on a regular basis. Namely that of causality. B does not always follow A as far as this comp is concerned.

Ha prepare to be blown away by the shear computing power I have available in my 2 computers!!

This one - 256MB DDR2!!!
80Gig maxtor HDD (x2)
16" CRT monitor that no thief would ever consider putting his back out for.
2.6 Ghz Celeron
couple of DVD drives.
Running XP pro and Fedora 8 (although if I don't get more RAM soon I'm gonna have to change Fedora for something that runs better on less)

And the one I just found bits and threw them together..... (the powerful one :shk: )

20 Gig HDD
600 (ish) Mhz processor
128MB RAM!!
an amazing 32MB nVidia graphics card!
Edimax USB WiFi (some plank has left their network open - saves running a cable I suppose, I know it's not secure
)
Running XP pro and Damn small Linux
edit: oh oh oh I forgot 2 yes count em 2 USB 1!!!!! ports (grrrr - any one else still using USB1?? by choice?)

All of the above cost me about £50 in total, and most of that is for the 1st machine - in fact the only bit I paid for on the second is the WiFi adapter - that was only a fiver from a mate!

Some call me cheap - I say I got a drinking problem to pay for!

Surprisingly well actually, just keep an eye on what processes are running - use CCleaner if I start noticing bugy problems, been playing with a little freeware prog called Rambooster of late, that manages the RAM a bit better (can't say I've actually noticed a difference yet tho). And the full version of AVG8 on both dosen't seem to be too intrusive - don't get me wrong, it can be a pain in the posterior at times - seemed to of developed a SW clash somehow - had a blue screen of death yesterday while using convert X 3 (although the min requirements for that are 512 RAM - oh well, usually works)
