Why is a disclosure important?

Why is a public disclosure on UFO/Aliens important to us?

Hello ladies and gents. Sorry if this topic already has been up, i couldn't find it by doing a search.

A thing has been on my mind for a while now. While reading alot of threads on ATS about public disclosure on the UFO/alien subject, it seems that alot of people desire a disclosure as if it would save humanity from [insert random catastrophe].

1. Did people watch too many sci-fi movies, making them think that a disclosure would create a such StarWars-community here on earth, and we would all be living in a great movie?
   
2. Do people think a disclosure would change the mind of the general public in a way that is good for us?
   
3. Do people think an alien civilization, even if a disclosure took place, would be coming here with their expertise to help us? And how?

Why are you interested in a disclosure, and what do you think it will lead us to?

None of the above actually.

There are many reason and none of which you stated.

One being that there are several different species of non-native races among us that all have different reasons for being here.
Now while some of them are in fact helpful, disclosure will not likely do anything to change how they help mankind as they have been doing throughout time.
No. that is not why. You see its the other side of the spectrum that perpetuates the need for disclosure. Most of the technological advances we have that are destruction related have come not from those helpful races but from a alliance between governments and the not so friendly species among us.

What price are we paying for this technology? Have you ever asked yourself where the missing people go? the ones that are never found?

This is just one of many reasons...
