Should I read the thread before posting to it?

Yes. The thread is being cluttered by massive numbers of posts asking the same questions over and over. As a general courtesy to Robbie, fellow ATSers and all the guests reading the thread, please review the thread before posting. If you start a post with "I haven't read the thread, but..." it will probably be deleted.

Should I argue with the staff if my post is deleted?

No. We've made it clear enough what's going on. This would be a particularly bad time to harass the moderators, circumvent staff action or otherwise interfere with the operation of the site. (source)

No. While it is not unusual for members to express coarse opinions about public figures, including musicians, all ATSers must be treated with courtesy and respect. (source)

Is Robbie Williams receiving special treatment on ATS as a celebrity?

Yes. This is because he receives special treatment from other members as a celebrity and has also attracted a great deal of outside attention to ATS. As a consequence, it is necessary for the staff to take measures to minimize the kinds of problems which result. Sighting: Sunset Strip

Where did it happen?

The yard of a hotel, facing the Sunset Strip (West Hollywood, California, USA) (source)

When did it happen?

About 11:30PM. (source)

What happened?

An object flew over at a height of about 200-300 feet. (source)

What did the object look like?

It was square or triangular, black with yellow stripes underneath. It made absolutely no noise whatsoever. (source)

The stripes were "chevronesque". (source)

Who saw it?

Robbie and a friend. Robbie had a hunch it was "one of ours". (source)



Sighting: San Fernando Valley

Where did it happen?

Robbie's house, San Fernando Valley, California, USA (source)

When did it happen?

Friday night about five months ago, from prior to 10:00PM to about 2:30AM, beginning while Robbie and some friends were playing a song called "Arizona" on the balcony. (source)

The Ball of Light

During the song, a big ball of light appeared over the San Fernando Valley, then disappeared when the song stopped. It reappeared when they resumed playing the song, and disappeared when they stopped. This happened four times. (source)

The Lightning Strike

While the band was observing this, an electrical storm came in and the balcony was struck by lightning. One of Robbie's friends saw the ball of light fly straight up and out of sight. (source)

The Black Beam

After the band came inside to the studio, everyone saw a black strip of light a few inches thick come through the studio door and go out through the opposing studio window, a distance of about 20 feet. (source)

The Searchlights

Then four white lights (like spotlights) appeared in the clouds, two in front of the house and two a few miles behind it. (source)

They moved in patterns that made the San Fernando Valley look like some sort of cosmic checkerboard and danced around a 40 mile radius. (source)

They may well have been searchlights, but the second wave (2-3:00AM) were very late at night for searchlights and haven't been seen since. (source)

Who saw it?

Robbie and friends. There were five people altogether. (source)

Solfeggio Frequencies

There has been much discussion in the thread about the possibility that solfeggio frequencies played during the song "Arizona" may have somehow been a causative factor in this event (first mentioned here).

However, it should be noted that "solfeggio" or "solfège" actually refers to the use of special names to teach standard musical scales: Wikipedia: Solfège. The common usage for the term does not necessarily imply specific frequencies.

There are some theories surrounding certain audio frequencies also referred to as "solfeggio" which suggest they may have special powers. (source)

Has Robbie spoken to anyone else who had seen the lights aside from the friends who were present?

Oh well,here's a bugbear of mine. Calling chrisonabike by his real name. None of us call eachother by our real names,as we have usernames for anonimaty. This should include all memebers,no matter what they do for a living. (unless they're real name is their user name,natch)

Still a bit confusedbythis thread,but hey,it's sunday,I've spent most of today in a state of confusion.

Numerous members, including yourself, have expressed confusion regarding the thread and many have been asking the same questions over and over again.

The thread itself is becoming so bloated and obfuscated that many members are claiming not to have even read the thread before posting -- usually the same questions -- and making the thread even harder to follow.

The FAQ is an attempt to help mitigate the problem and keep everyone from going round and round. Better to move forward. It will also serve as a guide for mods so we'll know which redundant posts to delete and which contain new, unanswered questions.

It may also serve as a short list that Robbie and his friends can review for accuracy and corrections and a source for an "executive summary" of the pertinent facts surrounding the sightings.

As for using Robbie's real name, I can understand your irritation, but there's already so much confusion as it is, so I'm using his name to try to keep things from getting even more complicated.

I'm working on a basic framework now, and will soon be populating the FAQ information gleaned from the thread.

Some people have usernames for annonymity, not all.

There are as you say those that actually use thier real name as thier username. Plus, i have often seen members calling each other by thier real names on here. I can think of 3 rather promenant ones straight away.

Whether it's liked or not, admitted or not, this place kind of grows on you like a family. It's members, grow on you....or not......like a family too.

So you'll often hear people using real names in a post, it's not something awarded especially to chrisonabike. (makes a note to call my next kid that, would be well cool!)

A question that keeps getting asked over and over is whether Robbie was on drugs/alcohol, and it's already been answered that he was not. I don't particularly have time at the moment to search through the thread for the specific post(s), but I think that ought to be somewhere in the FAQ.

I actually feel sorry for crisonabike now, i posted a thread about his radio documentary and when it was airing, i was asked by springer to be careful and we where, very respectful, talked about the contents rather than the man himself, now it seems his little documentary is spiraling out of control, hes gonna be driven out by silly people, this thread is a good idea i think, he needs the stress taking off him some IMO.

This is one of the reasons people keep their sightings quiet now, simply because of the million questions, both interested and just there to have a swipe at their reputation, its great crisonabike is here as a member, and i bet everything i own he wishes he could just browse and share other peoples experiences, simply to just understand his own, Im sure the staff are looking after him well, and my opinion usually stands for nothing outside where i live, however maybe he needs a backdoor (new start) when he has had enough, i respect what he has done so much, he has an edge over most i think, being that he is used to the attention, just how much can any man take?

Yes, i asked him if him or his friends were drunk or on others drugs effect and his answer was

I have'nt had a drink for 8 years and i can assure you no hallucinogens were harmed during this process....

I assure you he's not stressing over people asking him logical questions azzlin... He's enjoying the back and forth, he doesn't have to "do" anything to go back to just browsing, why would you think he did?

Nobody can "stalk him here" if he replies to someone else's thread he's just another member and will be treated as one.

I think it is sound that chrisonabike is here, purely because it shows that for all he has in terms of stature and wealth he is just another normal lad.

I will read his posts just like I read everyone else's posts, afterall ATS is not just a community but more like family, we have good members, bad members and some like irritating siblings.

I know this bit is off topic but chrisonabike I was sad to see Vale get relegated, as a Staffordshire lad I like to see all the local clubs doing well.

Hi wolfie, this event re Robbie is very interesting, especially the lights which I see quite frequently in Staffordshire Peaks. Do you think that his contact during song is similar to church goers song? The ufo/god likes chant and song, a musical lover maybe?
