I find it so funny that a agency like nsa can have internet trouble.Although the story ends there are many theories surrounding it.

THe root dns servers have again proved that they are the backbone of the internet and taking them down literally shuts down the internet

I am no expert in telling people why or why not things happen or don't.
It could simply be that no one gives a flying hoot about that little
tidbit of info. Just kidding !! Relax !! Give it a little time and I am
sure that you will be flooded with responses.

The NSA is responsible for analysis of foreign communications, but it is also charged with helping protect the U.S. government against cyber attacks, so the outage is an embarrassment for the agency.

They protecting us protecting us from cyber attacks and yet they don't know why their own server stopped working. The good thing is that it was only their website that stopped working and not the internet to all of the computers in the offices.

Ok, I have to chime in once more. So what if their server crashed
for a period of time? Things human made, break, fizzle and crash
on occasion. They (NSA) are only human too. They have human made
machines just like the rest of us. What is the big deal with all this?
Do you suddenly feel unable to sleep at night because of a little
glitch that I am sure they have long solved by now? What is the
concern with this?

Not necessarily.
After all, this thread only got 16 replies - and half of them were mine...
