Hmmm...I think this order was placed by the new fashion director.

It's all very hush, hush....but I believe his name is Colonel Guile.

These BRIGHT BLUE uniforms will no doubt serve them well when they've crash landed somewhere in a very, very, BEIGE desert, and they have to evade capture by the enemy...

Just like the SF, you get a good chunk of change allotted you by the government every FY, and you want to be the cool kid. All about appearances. What a sham(e)!

1. Personal opinion only: pretty bloody awful looking color scheme on the
Tiger stripes.

2. Potentially will stand out rather than fit into the environment but only
real way to know is to have some poor soul go out into the line of fire
during combat.

3. Think gov't should save the dough for more med. care, working equip.,
and ammo. This is war after all, not peacetime. We're not trying for the
best dressed corpses on the planet award.

4. Most if not all of us corresponders are (ahem) Rear Echelon troops not
front-line combat or support troops. Let the line troops make their own
observations during some quiet time.

5. Lastly, all of the armed forces branches are ok. This is war; terrs,
militants don't say : I like the AF or Navy so I'll shoot only the Marines
and Army or vice versa. The troops (male and female) are Americans,
they or us are all targets. In the middle of combat or shelling, I don't
care which branch you're in, we'll do our best to take care of you and
vice versa.

Finally they get a change they really needed one. I personally don't think it look good. But whatever helps our service members in the field is welcomed with open arms.

I for one like the new uniform. We have a member of our unit doing the test were of it and from all the feedback he gets, 95% of people love it. The remaining few who don't keep going on about how you can't hide in the forest with it on.

People, this uniform is not meant to ever be put into a combat enviroment. It will be used at home stations only. When troops are set to a deployed location, they will be give the appropriate uniform to allow them to blend in, either the DCU or the BDU.

Also, the idea of not needing to continually iron this uniform will cut done on the money spent to keep the old ones within regs.
