Yes, Thorfinn, it is not only our right, but our DUTY and RESPONSIBILITY to vote. You dont like Commiecrats and Republiklansmen? VOTE THIRD PARTY.

But voting is the very MINIMAL and LEAST thing you should be doing. Bombarding your leaders in office with more mail than they can stomach is the next thing. Bombarding the media with letters and demands for less bull# reporting is the next step. Spreading the truth via any means necessary is the next. Going ape # and protesting every kind of bull# they come up with is next.

And thats just the passive part of your duties as an American.

The next phase, when all of the above have failed, is using the system against them. Use your imagination.

The third phase is the most extreme: when we must take up physical arms against the tyrants. Hopefully, they will destroy themselves before then. But thats the last resort. It is important to use your brain and creativity and resourcefulness to use phases one and two.

And yes, I vote. My congress persons have probably had enough of my letters and emails. I have written enough angry leters to the papers and local news, a handful of which got response, but thats not here nor there.

I am on phase two: using the system against them. Finding unlikely allies and special interest groups and such. there are many things that can be done.

But sitting around beating an overposted topic to death about non existant invaders that shall never come is not only unproductive, but focuses energy away from fighting the real threats.

If Americans refuse thier civic duties of voting, lobbying, and pounding the govornment with thier grievances, than they are not worthy of the ideals that long ago existed and were real to some, and are not members of a great nation, but stupid cattle deserving of the slaughter that shall surely become thier fate should they allow the real threat to go unchecked.

Freedom aint free, and nothing is achieved without a great deal of sacrifice and a willingness to lose all. Just ask those people of the sixties whose nonstop civil misbehavior and restlessness cost them everything, but forced the govornment out of nam eventually.

I think an invading force could be (marginally) successful if they could somehow infil inland without being detected. Something like the Mobile Infantry space drop pods in Starship Troopers.

I know that's unlikely, but it's a premise for a story I'm writing right now. Shhh, don't tell anyone.

yeah, i agree. if something happened like in the movie red dawn then yeah, we wouldn't be able to stop them right away. if they came trolling into our harbors or even within a few hundred miles of the us they wouldn't stand a chance.

Thorfinn, your attitude is what has gotten this country in its quagmire, and is the reason I am learning more and more this country is beyond hope. Your vote would count if you actually started working towards making it count. That my vote dont count bull# is just that: bull#. It counts enough, even with election rigging. The fact Americans cant get off thier fat bacon stuffed asses and drive down to the local voting station, no, they dont wanna miss survivor or whatever mind jelling garbage is on the boobtube. No, they cant miss one night of bowling, or one night of drinking, no.

Voting does count. It counts alot more than you think. And is ALOT more than punching a chad. theres more to it than that. Even a couple hors a week getting together with friends or neighbors and forming your own little coalitions and grassroots groups that take little of your time. Lobbyiong together. The reason so much # happens and the gov gets away with it is because only small numbers of people actually lift a voice in protest. You cant leave everything up to elected officals. Elect them, then watch them like hawks and keep thew proverbial guns to thier heads to make sure they are doing the job. if everyone dropped the "it doesnt matter" crock of bull#, this country wouldnt be the pathetic dying #hole it is now. A couple of groups the US govornment can fend off. But hell, even 150 million angry pissed of Americans demanding and threating to replace them.

So, when this country becomes a total prison, a replica of Brazil, or of 1984, youll have no one to blame but YOURSELF, because the country will turn that way only because you foudn excuses to LET it turn that way. Vote while it still doesnt matter, because someday you wont even have the right to make your vote NOT count.

Demanding impeachment and criminal charges brought against elected offical and his campaign team and all involved. Endless letters demanding it. A halt to the elections, a recount, revote, criminal charges. Like I said, it doesnt stop when you punch the chad. It goes beyond this.

The fact that such a sad few voters show up at the polls is sickening, rigged elections or not. This is what THEY feed off: apathy. They want you to stay home. They want you to give up and say its hopeless. You hand THEM thier victory on a silver platter, parsley sprig and all.

It is a never ending battle, but I will beat this dead horse: freedom aint free, and youre gonna lose it in apathy. It is your damned duty as an American to start taking on the system. How else do you think a public revolution will get started? When people have suddenly realized they are losing peaceful options FAST. As long as people sit on thier lazy asses and give the country away, no revolt is possible. For one thing. I hate survivor. And I hate how complacent people in this country have become. But I just don't believe wasting my time with letters that will be tossed and votes that will be ignored is the way to be heard.

Our "leaders" don't give a damn. So I don't desire to waste my time. If someday the time comes I can affect real change. I will. Until then...I will continue to not care...
