Denver man seeking to protect city from alien invasion

www.smh.com.au

An American man who wants the city of Denver, Colorado, to be prepared for space aliens is proposing a commission to deal with the matter.

Jeff Peckman, from Denver, says the 18-member commission would form a strategy "dealing with issues related to the presence of extraterrestrial beings on Earth".

Wow, so this guys needs 4000 signatures to get his idea looked at and put onto a ballot.

Good luck buddy... I hope he doesn't know anything I don't

I'd love to be a fly on this guy's shoulder as he goes door to door with a clipboard or perhaps stands outside the local Wal Mart explaining the petition and asking for signatures

I'm not sure that I understand at all what he is proposing.
Would this commission interact with extra-terrestrial biological entities, prepare for their arrival, or raise public awareness of them? A little of all three?

So Peckman wants to see an initiative on the ballot in Denver that would create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission. City Council President Pro Tem Jeanne Robb says the proposal is frivolous and a waste of time and taxpayer money., "To have to take time for our staff, our city attorney's office, to go through this sort of review for something I think Denver, it's not going to make Denver look great, it's going to make us look sort of wacky." I have no idea, but it'll be interesting to see if he gets 4000 signatures! I think a lot of people are just going to sign it just for the 'whack' factor. Maybe someone else should do a similar a thing in their hometown, just to annoy the authorities a bit.

If I could I'd help this guy get his signatures. There's no reason this shouldn't be taken seriously. Besides I believe this would help the debate move forward with a real approach to some honest questions. If we prepare for something like this now(or a semblance of it), we won't be caught by surprise and panic should the event take place.

Good lord! I have my money on DIA underground. They must be trying to create a way to announce their sinister little plan to the public.
