Youre right, the only thing that can keep us safe is more war. The only way to preserve peace, is more aggression. Me, for one, am glad God enabled Bush to be in the WHITE HOUSE during this period of our lives; otherwise, we would most likely having this dialouge in Arabic.

OH MY GOD! Talk about ignorance! Bush has created the mess the world is #ing in, he is a mad man, with billions of american tax payers dollars. And your last comment shows your ignorance.

There is one thing you can be sure off, Iran will put up one hell of a better fight than the Iraqi's did. They are better prepared and better armed than Iraq, they got a bigger Army and a people that hates american(s) more than anything. So be sure, pick a fight with them and you'll not pick a fight with another nations. Oh wait, thats right, you'll do it the cowards way from the Air.

Exactly right but most people dont understand the concept of the weapon trade, probably because the press and the officials dont want them to..
They make reports that give the impression that the Govt is personally selling weapons to insurgents in Iraq but anyone that has seen the movie "Lord of War" will know that's not the way things work..

to be fair though, if the Revolutionary Guard is involved, which is a possibility then that could be the connection but there are only a handful of people in the entire world that know exactly whos hands touch a weapon as its being sold to an Iraqi..

And the US interference in Iraq is what...?

Reading of food shortages etc in the U.S and the global economic crisis, my question would be; can America afford a war with Iran. I get a bad feeling when Russia and China maybe part of the equation. This is very scary.

The way I see it is the fact that MSM is now talking more and more about what has been talked about here tells me that this WILL happen, its a question of when. MSM is good for some things, and using it to judge what is to go on (since with all the arguing apart we all seem to agree that MSM is used by the government for there own policies and to condition us by fear). Theh question now is, what will this all lead to and what can WE, the informed do???

In my opinion, forget the guns whether headed from Iran to Iraq or not, its not about guns its about the Bush machines forward planning. Iraq, Iran, Syria, all are part of a long term goal, one that has been nurtured for power and wealth. I am someone who looks in as an outsider and I view the May 1st - 8th terrorist related exercises as the catalyst, the final straw that will break Irans back and that huge navy flotilla will let loose, as will the Israeli nation. I wish I could get a bookmaker that would give me odds on a false flag attack during the week in May. All the sabre rattling about guns is just a pre to what will happen when Iran is blamed for the next home grown act of terrorism scenario. P.S. what better way to take American Joe Publics mind of the fact that America is near to destitution.

Someone clearly has no sense of sarcasm, I'd say the person you think your schooling allready feels the same way you do.

Anyway, I think the U.S. is just looking for a fight, watching and waiting, occasionaly throwing in taunt or 2 and Iran is no less guilty of instigating this mess. They are saying and doing things that can't go unnoticed. If something happens blame America for not being big enough to ignore the immature child taunting you in the corner and blame Iran for defiantely pushing their nuclear agenda and F U's form of postering. Can't say Iran isn't asking for it but the U.S. should ignore it and go home. Israel has more at stake so I can see why they are in the mix but not the u.s.

Iran is asking for it because they want to run their own country as they see fit, and because they respond to unfounded accusations from the US?

Is that you dubya???

I'm sorry. weather you believe in a war with Iran or not, that has got to be one of the most ridicules statements I've read on ATS in a good while.

in fact, this whole thread is just a bunch of ridiculousness.
(shakes head at the state of ATS political discussion)

Such a disturbing conscious in this thread here: attack Iran after it's been publicly stated by the National Intelligence Estimate that it had absolutely no weapons program? How many of you are willing to serve in Iraq, or for the most part, Iran were it come to that situation? How many of you would send your own sons and daughters? Certainly none of our fearless leaders.

Didn't we learn our lesson during Vietnam? Didn't we learn our lesson after we realized that this government had utterly lied to the global community about 9/11, Saddam Hussain and Al Queda?

The cowards way?!? You cannot be serious with this statement. Wars are fought to win. Fighting from the air is America's strength & because of that, if some moron running off at the mouth, supplying the enemy with weapons to kill Americans, threatens to wipe Isreal off the map wants to challenge America, then his dumb #ss better be ready to deal with an Air Strike. Of course we will fight from the air. Come on man, Wake up!!

Irans political environment is in a state of panic. The environment is heavily polluted and food prices are highly inflated. They are close to civil war as tensions escalate.

They are becoming more aggressive in the hope that the US will attack. That seems to be the only thing they have left to pull the country together before it implodes.

Let's hope we can show some restraint while keeping ready for a suicide boat or outright attack.

Its quite strange how nobody mentions Europe in any of this. Americans seem to either forget, or not realise, that many European nations have a lot of interests in Iran (Germany for example has a lot of trade with Iran).

Despite a lot of bitching from the left in Europe the Americans did actually have a lot of public support, especially in countries like Britain and the Netherlands (over 50% of popular opinion at the start of the invasion of Iraq - and I was one of the supporters), but seriously, if the Americans think that Europe will just stand by and let them invade Iran I think they are living in fantasy land.

I'm not saying that Europe would intervene militarily, but it would spell the end for NATO, and Americans on the whole are already hugely unpopular in Europe (sad in my opinion but true). With the American economy in such a mess does it really want to further loose its friends in Europe?

For too long now America has ignored European opinion and considered Europe to be insignificant. Well, wake up America - despite the fact that you are still the most powerful military force, if you loose the support of the UK and Europe you will be in a real mess.

Iran is a problem, thats for sure. But America has shown itself to be wholly incapable of sorting out Iraq, and to be quite honest, the more I see of the behaviour of US troops on the masses of videos posted online the more I realise why (I know its not the majority, but even so the bad apples have destroyed any chance of a peaceful outcome in Iraq).

We do seem to be in a catch 22.

Lol, you got me, I can't help it, I love ATS. Anyway, I don't think Iran shouldn't be able to run their country how they see fit but therein lies the problem, I think their gov't is unstable and are doing and saying things that draw attention, I did say the U.S. should ignore it. Dubya out!

Cowards huh? Like it or not those people are following orders. We all fall in line somewhere in this world. No one is immune from the causality which affects us all. Furthermore, it's not cowardly as it is smart. War has evolved, we don't fight in trenches anymore.

If they actually go through with this madness, it's time for civil war.

If this administration is really willing to drag us into another disastrous conflict, against the will of the people, for the benefit of Israel and Big Oil, it's time to stop debating these idiots and start hanging them from meathooks Mussolini-style
