I heard a mention of Florida, does anyone know of other places that saw groups of the same type of lights last night.

I head on the NBC Nightly News that a similar sighting was reported somewhere in Florida on Saturday night. Could this thing be travelling across the country? I might just take a peek outside every so often this evening! Also, the internet hacks are already downplaying this sighting. Here's a link saying that these lights are only military flares or a formation of planes
blogs.villagevoice.com...

Now tell me th last time you saw flares or airplanes form a hovering delta in midair.
Spare me. We all know it's either a. A military experiment or b. A friggin UFO

Alas, the news report confirms what I pointed out earlier. The last two lights tend to disappear and then reappear. I do not see how flares could do this. I'd like to know if that guy in the interview link that I posted above has any connections to the military base around there, though I do admit this case is looking as if it is about to come to a close.

Furthermore, it sounds like such a crude balloon/flare design when the man in that video above describes what he saw. He also said that sparks were flying off of the flare. Isn't there a decent possibility that the flare would catch the balloon's string on fire as the flare wore down?

Watch the way this emergency flare burns;

(I got the unfortunate last post on the other page) Also, the Florida sighting was in St. Augustine. In that news video from FL (the link is earlier in this thread) they talk about sightings in Germany as well.

Yeah, they are loud, and they fly almost ALL night, lol. I mentioned earlier in this thread that on Sunday a little after 9 am, 2 cobra attack helicopters flew over our place, I was amazed how loud those were also...

I wonder why some one would send ballons and flares into the air?

Oh, here's another good find!

The man in the video says the lights were traveling West to East but the wind was blowing North West according to the weather report that roadgravel posted earlier;

Looks like there was not much wind around the time of the sightings.

So if they were balloons with flares, shouldn't they have been moving WITH the wind, not against it?

IMO yes it does. I truly believe there is something to this. Great cross reference thanks.

I hate to say this but I have to.

There's a great possibility that I am going to take a crap tomorrow for you to witness. Even if I don't, I could still do a great job to hoax the whole thing to prove I can predict events like this.

I've seen an extraoidanary event back in 1984 and truly believe in events like these. That is why I found myself to this sight, but the evidence for the event the op is talking about, I feel is overwhelming of a hoax!

Would something like this be illegal? Because if it is then the police will be knocking on that neighbors door and there will be a police report about it.

AGGGRRR! Dam Mosquitoes. They tore me up. No lights yet. Yeah the first time this happened in Phoenix they said it was flares and then later the Governor came out and said well not so fast, Now that I'm out of office I will tell the truth.
I guess I can wait till the dogs start acting funny before I have to brave the flying vampires

Indeed. I really can't believe that to be lanterns. To me the lights create several distinct symbols.

Yes, lanterns may be the most logical explanation but i don't think there is enough evidence to fully commit to that theory yet.

The direction of wind in weather reports is the direction that the wind is coming from, not going to. A wind that says W or NW is actually coming from the W or NW, heading East. Given a degree of inaccuracy based on it being human observation as well as the volatile nature of wind in the Spring (direction-wise), a wind coming from NNW at one point in time could have actually been coming from the West at any point in the sighting, or it could just be that the observer misjudged the direction that the objects were moving.

Yes, I joined today, and yes, it was to make this statement.

flames can easily fizzle to a low burn, stay there and come back to full light. blow on a windproof lighter. Not as bright while your blowing. could be a flame caught in a gust of wind that eventually settles down. try this for example.

OMFG!!!! I just saw this on my news in columbus OH... the newscaster was like "The U.S. Airforce said that the lights were not part of any sort of military exercise. I have the answer, its aliens." and he did not say anything after that. He did not laugh or use any sarcasm. After that they just cut to a commercial. I got goosebumps!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is incredible!!!!

I agree with JOINTHERESISTANCE, but these, IMO, are lanterns.
