You do have to balance on a basketball don't you? The whole idea of gravity on spheres is from watching little critters crawl on walls and round things. It probably goes something like this:

Please review my previous posts... And please try to include some kind of scientific basis for your claim if you would.. You have to come up with something better than this if you are going to try and debate this issue and defend the idea of a flat earth. Noone has answered any of my questions and arguments defending a spherical earth and assuming that the earth is flat proves nothing, just as assuming it is spherical proves nothing. Facts will always defend the truth.. The earth is not both..

Everything we've talked about here prove that the earth is NOT flat but spherical.. NOONE has argued against any of these very valid arguments with much more than conjecture. And I don't know why other than perhaps there is no valid argument to explain what we see in nature that defends the idea that we have a spherical earth.

What this thread has shown is not that the earth is spherical or flat, but that people assume everything they've been spoon-fed since birth. When people are forced to question and defend what they think is true they don't know what to say at first....This is why we have so many posts of people just posting rude remarks and trying to take a defensive position without actually pointing out the evidence that supports their beliefs. This thread is mostly here to make people think and put things into perspective. And it HAS for me..

That's exactly what people have stated OVER and OVER here... NOONE is debating this anymore because the flat-earth believers have never made any argument that makes sense. All the flat earth arguments have been based on assumptions and conjecture. The purpose of the thread was to make people think.. But it has turned into much more than that! Still, people continue to chime in now and then with their beliefs in a flat earth when they offer nothing to counter the very good arguments that contradict flat earth theory.

If ATS had a thread called "UFO's are fake and here's the proof [FARCE]", people would still make arguments defending the existence of UFO's whether or not those arguments had ANYTHING to do with the information in the OP's post.

Most of the people defending a flat earth are the ones insisting the thread is not a "[FARCE]".. Its those people you should be aiming your post at, not me..

I either don't understand the flat earth model or cannot conceptualize non-spherical travel. You're saying that someone circumnavigating the earth is _intentionally_ traveling in a circle? Because one can travel in a straight line and come back to the starting point in the sphereical model but if the earth is flat would this not mean that we need to intentionally make course corrections in a vessel traveling east-west around the earth whereas if the earth is a sphere you merely need to travel in a straight line and you will end up back where you strated? I don't get it.

Heading west you continually make adjustments in your course, but they are too small to notice. West is simply at a right angle to north. It is the same on the round earth as the flat. If you travel west near the North Pole, what happens?

Could anyone provide a satellite video showing the earth spin for one day? All I keep pulling up from doing some general searches online are these animated renderings of how our planet looks like from space. For whatever reasons, there are videos showing Jupiter spinning but nothing close to what I would like to see to prove that Earth is indeed roundish in shape. Thank you.

Sure, He's a real rabbit!

ALL of this video is probably just as contrived as the scenes from action movies!

All of the video of the "earth" spinning from NASA and other sources can easily be manipulated to turn the flat disc into a sphere - any novice can create a "round" earth in MS paint from a real flat picture!

It's the same technique they use to create flat maps of earth vs. the "round" maps that are all very skewed unreal.

Just look at all the arbitrary manipulation that goes on!

Then how does one explain the curvature of the Earth from an airplane, or from the top of a tall building? If the Earth isn't round, but flat, wouldn't we be able to see the whole Earth from a high vantage point?

I'm truly puzzled by how it is that this is such an issue. It was round the last time I was on an airplane.

But in your picture Antartica is going around the entire circumfrence of the Earth. If someone wanted to travel from the "centre" of Antartica to the East or West then they'd never stop travelling. They'd just be going forever and never reach a coast.

Actually, if you have a large enough sphere the degree of the curviture would be small enough to walk on. Because it makes a large enough area, that standing on the sphere you would not know that it was roun and you would think it to be flat. I don't completely agree with what science say about most things dealing with the universe, but the idea af a flat earth is well just mind numbimg. I honelstly believe i have lost a few brain cells for reading and even more for adding a post. I will go mourn my brian cells now later.

A giant banana slug of sufficient size would give the illusion of a flat earth too, I suppose. I don't see you jumping on that theory's band wagon. Why would you trust a theory whose premise is "It's not really flat. It's just an illusion"?

I don't really believe in it and haven't studied it though, so I can't help you with it. I think if you read the entirety of timecube.com you might figure something out, but it's a rather obscure theory.



Keep in mind that they are talking about iron cubic lattices. It's still even becoming pseudo mainstream. Here's an article about it on Science Daily. They just haven't realized that the entire planet may just be a bunch of flat cubes - or a solid disk with cubic like properties that exist in discrete quanta - and we're all standing on a big illusion.
