Examines psychics claiming to be able to talk to the dead, alleging their techniques are little more than cold reading.

Penn and Teller are debunking everything that does not agree with their perspective on it and they don't even try and be scientific about it. They just round up some crazies ( that are available in every thinkable side of life ) and conclude that it isn't possible. They don't even have a scientific background so it would be like a baker trying to explain special relativity.

Not even saying talking to the dead is possible btw, i'm just saying Penn and Teller don't have any authority in this field and are using their fame to influence others with things that don't even have to be true.

regardless of Penn and Teller and their credentials, psychics do little more then cold read. I could say for example "you have a lot of problems stemming from childhood, you didnt always get along with your parrents and some one close to you died." Odds are I just said something that is correct. thats the basic principal to it

I've seen examples which sure didn't look like cold-reading or fishing. The accurate guessing of names, birthdays, the way the died, their state of life and mind at the time of death. No, I find it hard to believe that all mediums are charlatans. If anyone can argue effectively that it is, I would like to hear it.

You are asuming this is so but you cannot speak for every person out there claiming to be psychic. Just because cold reading is a way to fish for information you can use does not say it can only be that way.

I do not have any personal experience with any of em but trusted people in my surroundings have seen it happen. For example they take a picture with them of someone that has backpains but the person taking it does not say anything and the psychic says what's wrong with the person in the picture right from the bat. No questions asked.

I can't prove i'm not talking out of my backside here but it is one of the reasons i think real ones are there in between the coldreaders and such.
