I've had mormons talk to me about the religion and remember asking them about the becoming gods thing... They replied, we'll talk about that later, that's not important now... uhg...

Not sure I understand the perspective of your post What is the "ugh" factor about it? Why "shouldn't" it be true? I'm not Mormon, so the actual veracity of the religion is unimportant to me personally. It seems no stranger than other figures purported to talk to burning bushes, commanding followers to drink their blood, gods having sex with mortals, and all the other ways that human worship has manifested over the millenia.

thanks for posting this ElectricUncleSam.. I had not idea it was an ET based belief system. Is it possible that raelianism and scientology are just mormonism spin offs? very interesting.

Mormons believe they can attain godhood, the use of the book of Mormon is proof enough for me as a Christian that they are not to be trusted.

They are very misleading when they come to your door (well the ones that came to my door were)

IMO this video was made to cause distrust against the Mormon religion. I don’t really know how much of this video is true but I believe that there is always a bit of truth mixed in with untruth. We don’t really need to point out how different all the religions are we need to find the similarities and work together from that so we can all live together in peace.

We tend to fear and hate things we don’t really understand. You need a person of the Mormon faith to tell you the facts about their religion. Wait till you hear from someone who knows before you form an opinion.
Peace

There is pretty conclusive scientific proof that Smith made the whole thing up.

Well because I don't see the point in keeping anything a secret or held back.. I wanted to know what was up with the "becoming a god" idea I had heard about... They didn't want to talk about it.. That's where the uhg factor comes from... I don't think Mormons are bad people or anything just think they are misled a bit... They also do not believe that the Father Son and Holy Spirit are one.. They believe they are separate entities...

John is noted for referring to Jesus Christ as the Word...

1 John 5:7, King James Version (KJV) For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

More information on 1 John 5:7

The Trinity doctrine is not scriptural. The Jews and the Muslims both believe in a single Almighty, no three gods in one. The Trinity doctrine came from a blending of Roman pagan beliefs into Christianity. Just investigate the origins of Christmas and Easter.

It appears the Mormon faith is one of the false religions that have followers whose ears itch to hear the lies that build up the self. The Holy Bible declared that all of our acts of righteousness are as filthy rags, all of them. There is no way to attain a god-level of equality with Jesus by our acts no matter how many good things we do.

We don't have door-to-door Mormons here in Mississippi. Jehovah Witnesses come around pretty regular though. I personally can't subscribe to a faith that denies the Holy Spirit as an autonomous being and from what I have read about the Witness faith, that is one of their 'truths'. Personally, I believe all these bogus religions are just worship of the self disguised as faith in Jesus in a Box and not Jesus as Savior and King of Kings.

The Trinity doctrine is not scriptural.

How do you define scriptural? Usually it means form the scriptures. Are you implying the Bible is not scripture. Well throw out everything else too then.

1 John 5:7 KJV

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

I think, while the video may be true
It is an attepmt by some other church to put a bad view on mormanism
like when people talk about the immaculate conception they dont say
'the spirit of god came down from heaven and had sex with the virgin mary'

I have some (kind of distant) family who are Mormon and while I didnt talk to them in great lengths about it the few things they did say kind of blew my mind. I dont know about everything that video says, but then it wouldnt suprise me all too much just by the few things I have heard them say.

that scripture can be interpreted as saying they are in union

for example

gen 2:[23] And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
[24] Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

are husbands and wifes literally one flesh?

that aside, the is even some question as to the validity of this verse

I only follow the King James Bible... I don't follow any other version of the bible.. The example you gave is mute based off of that... They are referencing a NET version and it's even off... No wonder you can question it...

Check out my thread on Satan's assault on the church etc. etc.. and watch the video I provided... Very good explanation of which bibles and churches are "bad"... You can try to disprove him all you want, but I bet you can't... Other than saying he's a gook or some other name, he right and you'll see... It makes total sense...

My first impression while viewing this video a few days ago was along: 'Oh dear 'gosh'! What the heck is this 'stuff'? I was actually laughing out loud about the representation of their gods as being too blond/e and the fact that the universe is that vast for the propagation of polygamous ideals. This almost reminds me of another religion and all those, err, virgins in heaven.

And the representation of Native folks appears awfully offensive. I am thinking that perhaps this cartoon borders on science fiction. I think Superman would have been Mormon.

I only follow the King James Bible...

you mean the original king james? you do understand that it is a translation, that the orignal was written in greek right?

I don't follow any other version of the bible.. The example you gave is mute based off of that... They are referencing a NET version and it's even off... No wonder you can question it...

okay, post 1 john 5:7 and genesis 2:23,24 from your version of the bible. i think you´ll see my point is not ¨mute¨

Check out my thread on Satan's assault on the church etc. etc.. and watch the video I provided... Very good explanation of which bibles and churches are "bad"... i agree with you, certain bibles have been changed. most ¨churches¨do not follow god.

i use the KJV because it is the most widely accepted and easily acssec¡ble. but if you would like me to use a different bible to disprove the trinity, then so be it. i can use the greek interlinear which is a literal word for word translation of the text if you like....
