Oh, Akira was great..... probably one of the weirdest and greatest anime I have seen in a long time. Same with Ghost in the Shell.

Peace Maker is really good too, Samuri 7 also.

Ghost in the shell is my favourite anime, dont know why I just like the whole setting it reminds me of Peter F Hamiltons Nights Dawn triology.

Afro Samurai is pretty good to. Who doesn't love Samuel L Jackson being a samurai hell bent on revenge.

Both Appleseed movies are good. There is also an older adaptation from the late 80's but I haven't seen it yet. Some may argue that they are not "real anime" because there is some CGI and motion capture used but I think it looks just fine...

I watched the first apple seed the other day and I didnt really like it. I think it was the animation that I didnt really like.... personly I think it was a poor attempt at making an anime in cg.... the story was good though lol.

WOW! Lots to get through! I'll do it list style and stuff.

Afro Samurai- Got it on Blu Ray and it is amazing. I LOVE SLJ! He is such a hottie and a great voice. The action, the meshing of technology and samurai, so cool.

Elfen Lied- Box Set, worth every penny. Blood gore and violence! A group of orphans being slaughtered? She ripped the body in half AND cut the head off of a ten year old! Talk about thorough lol.

Cowboy Bebop- Show and Movie, worth it. Too bad they killed him off in the end the show could have had another season easily! And I love Jazz Music and Yoko Kanno is an amazing artist.

Vampire Hunter D- Both movies are great. The second ones story is better though.

Witchblade- Just bought it at Best Buy last week and totally worth it. I love violence in my shows and movies in case you couldn't tell lol.

Anything Kenshin! I love that redhead lol. Oro? The movies are dramatic, the show a lot of humor.

I'll stop there for now. I could go on ALL DAY about Anime. Fron Appleseed to Inuyasha to Trigun and Full Metal Panic. Oh I just watched Gurren Lagen last night on Sci Fi's Ani-Monday and it was way too trippy for me.

Ghost in the Shell was kick ass!

It made me look at things in whole new perspectives sometimes.

You know whats another great series with alot of violence? Gantz, its all about this group people who are "saved" right before dying and forced to fight aliens to get a second chance at life. I don't want to give too much away but lets just say don't get attached to any of the characters.

Thanks guys! I looked at several of the Animes suggested here, including Appleseed Ex Machina and Dead Space Downfall. Both were excellent.

Encore is running one that's gotta be the goofiest ever.

Eiken

The premise is...well not really for a family board, though it's only really PG-rated, I suppose. The link above is fine.

Awesome, I might go out and get the box set then.

I've been looking into some of these movies, haven't seen any yet though. The only anime I think I've watched is the Animatrix, which kicked ass. There's so many I don't know where to start..

Any recommendations for something along the lines of scifi/action/dystopia?

I haven't replied to this thread yet? Seriously?...Really? *that's odd*

Black Cat was good, minus the stupid Adam and Eve arc, which was...dumb honestly.
Chrno Crusade was good, I could've done without the constant reminder that Rosette was going to die though.
Tsubasa started out good, but after comparing things that are impossible with improbable, they make me want to chew my leg off from time to time.

Spiral was a pointless anime, I was scratching my head at the end of it. It had it's moments, like there was going to be this huge thing, and then...it...was just over.

FMA, that I can think of off the top of my head is the least inconsistant show that's been running around. That's just me off the top of my head right now though.

Got it on Blu Ray! I love SLJ and with Ninja Ninja... Won't give it away.

Blood The Last Vampire- The movie that started the show Blood+, also good. Sai on an American base slaughtering the monsters... Its a great story and the visuals!

Vampire Wars- Um, a bit weird. Old style, 1991. It does contain Graphic Violence, Nudity, Strong Language, and Adult Situations. So it has every thing I love!

I have really enjoyed Trinity Blood lately. That and Vampire Hunter D is close to my heart. The novels are worth checking out too.

Vampire Hunter D and Ninja Scrolls are kind of a tie for me....
Also, the whole Robotech Macross series with Rick Hunter/Lisa Hayes, etc.
