What's the real reason for going to mars?

Cheap beer and lots of weed. Haven't you seen those pics of green stuff that some are calling moss? I think we all know what it really is.

Just because NASA says there is no (or very little) atmosphere on mars doesn't mean its true... I've seen those pics of trees on mars ...

I think mars is almost as alive as earth they just dont show us all the pics.

(Imagination time) An alien race could come to earth and take photos of our lifeless deserts and take em back to their home planet, show off the photos (after a little colour editing) and say its a dead barren world. The people of that world wouldn't know any better becuse its easy to make a world look lifeless.

Therefore NASA hasn't convinced me using their photos, to me they aren't proof.

No, not really. Those haematite "berries" the Spirit rover found that have the exogeologists at NASA raving can only be formed in a non-reducing atmosphere (ie without oxygen), and with a bit of water.
