Well, that's a cop out. You need to provide some credible sources for that kind of a statement.

I have been a member of Seti@home since Dec 1999 and I also have Seti@home running on multiple machines and I just did a random check of the results and in almost every one of my results I have:


Spike count: 4
Pulse count: 2
Triplet count: 1
Gaussian count: 0

Almost all of the results have some type of count findings.
So do not know if this means anything....

Agreed. Someone above them could be manipulating what they do - that's partly why I mentioned how I think SETI is probably a waste of time - because in that case it's possible somebody who is fronting a cover-up allows them to continue, knowing full well they are looking in all the wrong places.

Keeping quiet doesn't disassociate themselves from people like us. It just hamstrings their efforts by fooling everyone into thinking that no progress is being made since NOTHING is ever released until it's a "sure thing."

It's also a lot more boring. If they were announcing possible signals once every few months, it sure would attract a lot more attention and excitement, and probably more funding.

The disclaimer you previously posted specifically warned people who score hits about contacting the press themselves before SETI can fully evaluate the data. All I'm saying is they need to disassociate themselves from that element of eccentrics who make outrageous "smoking gun" claims that ultimately come up short. If they let these people represent SETI then it would quickly become a case of boy who cried wolf for the entire program and no one would take it seriously.

But if you want SETI to keep the public more informed on interesting signals simply for the sake of progress reports - I'm completely with you on that one.

Anyway - I generally agree with your points and my rant was more directed at these type of comments:

above is an updated map and i have figured out how to enhance the map using seti mapviewer.

the yellow dots indicate according to the mapviewer read me are were the signal is weaker

and the red dot concludes that this is a definate signal of some description

i have decided to e-mail Seti to try and find out more.

The government is not going to allow you sub-human primitives find out anything about anything real that's going on.

Your being led on. The aliens are already here. Their going to wipe us off the face of the earth to breed a better adaptable species that won't have all the problems that the lesser current form has. And thanks to them too because look at how screwed up the world currently is. It's a good thing. So kiss your life good bye. 2012 is right around the corner. Just think. The earths going to better off in the future.

Your best bet would be to lower your electricity bill because there's still a good chance for survival and a revolution. Do the world a favor and conserve power. Unplug the thing. It's not going to help any movement of discovery.


Sad thing is this program is most likely a shield for an underlying disinformation strategy.

They have to use test signals to make sure the system is working. Otherwise, how would they know if they're actually receiving the data correctly? It's called the "control", and it's an absolute requirement for any scientific endeavour, especially one as complicated (and difficult to repeat - you can't ask ET to send that last message again) as this.

Of all the reasons to be paranoid about SETI, their test signals are not one of them. Quite the opposite, actually.

Dr. Greer is not credible? He has interviewed over 400 whistle blowers, maintains telepathic communication with aliens, wants congressional hearings but gets ignored, etc. Yet SETI that is pretending to listen for ET signal is more credible. Sure!

And then you attack billy meier...oh yea...I forgot he got discredited by his wife and Mr. Ritzmann who apparently couldn't take the heat and ran like a sissy after getting Mr. Lear banned. What a bunch of bullocks!

What about Mr. Lazar? He probably got discredited because his schooling records were not found...right? Yeah...sure.

And Mr. Friedman who has been sending emails to SETI asking very valid questions but never seems to get any replies? He must be hallucinating.

Commander X is spreading tall tales, Phil Schneider commited suicide with a piano wire, Thomas Castello and others that worked at Dulce are all pathetic liers...tell me when to stop!

I'll bet you a dollar that I have done more actual OBJECTIVE research than you want to ever pretend you have. I've at least done enough to know that associating any information coming through Steven Greer with the term "take that to the bank!" (what you wrote before you edited your other post) is beyond ironic.

Anyway, now that I see you're defending Billy Meier as well I'm not even going to bother arguing since it's pointless. Some people want to believe so bad that they're willing to accept garbage like that then so be it - good luck to you.

There is no need for disinfo agents - you guys already do all the dirty work for them.

i have possibly got another signal from a relatively close proximity to the first it has shown as yello now...im waiting for the seti@home servers tomorrow as they are doing service (apparently at this moment)

i will post the results....

If any one else is using this program i will gladly share the logs and map viewer to confirm what i have

Yes. I was put on this planet for one purpose and that is to make sure the transistion to crossover the advanced species is completed. I admit it I enjoy being above the sub-prime level.

But let me not discourage overloading the vulnerability of the internet with this bogus program. Come on. Turn it off. Free up some bandwidth. A yellow dot? Another yellow dot? Then what? It would be more understandable if this program was used to conduct research for something more interesting as the density of gold.

UNPLUG SETI PLEASE!

All these bleeps and spots are not going beyond anything more than that.

1)You are posting seti material in the ufo/alien board of www.abovetopsecret.com... which is a conspiracy forumn. Do I need to remind you what a conspiracy site is?! Why not post in the seti board so you can avoid all the "crazies"?

2)The topic is seti and therefore any posts criticizing it are not off topic as some are suggesting.

3)Don't be so paranoid that you can't take a little criticism. To take it a step further its usually the "believers" that take all the heat from the so called skeptics, which is a fancy name for debunkers! In a conspiracy site such as this freedom of expression should always be maintened regardless of views. Trying to suppress this will make us another North Korea or Iran.
