My favorite comedy of all time has to be The Jerk. "he hates these cans!"
I hurt myself from laughing so hard the first time I saw it.

So what's your favorite comedy and why? I am hoping to find a good comedy that I haven't seen before.

The Jerk is great! The news phone books here!! I have a
sound clip at work and everytime we get updated phone
books I sent it out to everyone! lol

We recently rented "Just Friends" with Ryan Reynolds. I laughed
out loud at the way the brothers treated each other.

"It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World"
you bet!
Classic funny..What an amazing cast of comedy legends.
I think that was the first time I suffered a "fit" of laughter.

Others

Galaxy Quest:
there are some great lines in that movie. I seem to discover more, each time I watch it.
Memorable things: "and it exploded", choppy things, "oooh, thats not right".

Bowfinger: Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy.
Memorable things..A dog in High heels, Eddie's character crossing an LA freeway on foot, twice! Chubby Rain.

Accepted: Kids who don't get into College, invent one of their own.
Memorable things: Jonah Hill's character screams, Glenwads, Lewis Black as a professor.

The Jerk was one of the first movies I went to see in a theater without my parents...along with Mel Brooks' History of the World Part I, another good comedy. Blazing Saddles is another Mel Brooks film that is very funny.

The Grumpy Old Men series was good and also Dirty Rotten Scoundrels was quite funny with Michael Caine and Steve Martin in it as well.

"Ruprecht the monkey boy" makes me laugh every time.

The Jerk's great. This is Spinal Tap is a goodie.

For older ones, I've liked the original Bedazzled ever since I was a little kid. Dudley Moore & Peter Cook are hilarious.

A good one with a message that certainly pertains to these times is Being There with Peter Sellers. The "I like to watch" scene with Shirley MacLaine might be the funniest slice of the human condition I've ever seen on film. I'm chuckling thinking about it.

I'll post a guilty pleasure, Joe Dirt!
He got a lot of stuff right about 'the day'. "I'm getting a footprint gas pedal installed" was too funny. Christopher Walken, Brittany Daniel, what's not to like?

Personally I thought Cannibal: The Musical was one of the funniest, but I love ALL that Trey Parker & Matt Stone do.

But the absolute greatest comedy of all.......
