Maybe we need to give Congress & the President a bit of a break. I'll bet their hands are mostly tied.

Well, what would you suggest?

We may agree that, left to "economic jungle law", as it were, a market economy would end up as a pre-FDR free-for-all. We might even also agree that a Republic -- with its "leaders" serving at the pleasure of the electorate -- has it's hands tied, to a large degree, by the need for cash-flow for our "leaders'" continued tenure.

But, er, what exactly would you, tsEnigma, propose that we do to "get the money out of politics" and establish a true Republic led by what Plato envisioned as our "Philosopher Kings"?

In short: What would it co$t?

That was a great little flick.
Unfortunately I had to close out of it 4 times and re- enter to watch it in it's entirety- funny how it would Stall Out, Freeze.
Of Course I've had problems with a number of my 'connections' while on the internet - big Brother is not only watching- i think he has his oen switch to knock US out as needed.

That sounds nice, maybe they won't stab us in the back in order to curry favour from the actual power-holders.

edit; i'm under the perception that someone like George Bush would do this in a split-second if he thought he could get away with it.

Which is what you're suggesting we give them the power to do.
