There is no evidence for dragons anywhere. The species we call 'dragons' are not actually dragons, just a colourful name given to different reptile species. That's it.

Even the flying dinos didn't last long because it doesn't make evolutionary sense to be large and in the air.

Exactly what I tell me mother each time she wants me to fly back to the States for the holidays.

As for dragons...

Sure, why not.

Constantly science is finding species of animals never even imagined before - above and below the earth/seas.

Is there a dragon out there somewhere?

I bet there is...

I love dragons and I really want to see one! If anyone has any sightings or places to look please give me as much information as possible!

Thnx

1- get into an Ivy leagus school, excell in biology and physics and genomics

2- patent a ton of idle research applications

3- sell them to huge corps for a fortune

4- set up your own lab, or work for the military

5- direct your own research project in genetic engineering.

6- use existing reptile DNA, succeed at retrieving viable dino bone dna, or synthesize it like craig venter...

7- make Puff a reality.

or smaug.

myself.. i want a Chinese dragon.
you'd have to use eel dna and some lion dna for the beard/mane .. oh and deer dna for the antlers.

um.. what are you waiting for?

i told you how to see one?... get to it!

I can feel
that Dragons are real
Dragons are hidden very well from the naked eye
or we're just blind

people don't even try to look for them instead they make hoaxes because their impatient. I can accept an intresting hoax, of how they make it in stuff, but I would still feel offended. If people are creating hoaxes then it's like dragons gave up on us because we give up on them. Why don't we be patient and let the sacred animal come to us.

what if someone really saw a dragon, then it's going to be "the boy who cryed wolf", over and over again because of advanced hoaxes. That's really sad.

of course inernet about the existence of dragons won't do you #, but it's all I have. I've been trying and trying for so long for a serious artical or video of a real 6 limbed reptile that breathes fire, but no luck and naw duh
there will be no luck at all because too many people don't believe in dragons. If you all find me a dragon, don't just send me just an ordinary lizard that has the dignity of a dragon. It's just a matter of patience when spotting the real mythical one.

thank you

Flygon, this may come as a disappointment to you (I hope not!), but "dragons" only came "to life" in Marco Polo's (14th century) description of what were almost certainly crocodiles.

The first stories of dragons date back to ancient Greece. But that doesn't mean they aren't real.

i think if you wanna find a dragon you must search either inside a really big mountain or deep in the sea but both are pretty tough to get to i think

Try this, not much but it's something:

home.alphalink.com.au...

The Encyclopaedia Britannica had a full spread on dragons, four legged, two legged, fire, ice etc.

I doubt they existed like most here but they're an incredible idea.

I believe in dragons and I do believe that they are among us today. If any of you are christains like me, you may have read job 41, which is god describing the leviathan. Leviathan translates to crocadile, whale or dragon. In the verse, however, it is describes to have the ability to breath fire and no human could inflict harm to it. Doesn't sound like a whale or crocadile to me! I beleive that their numbers are probably dwindling and that there is very few left, but I also think that these majestic animals have found ways to hide from us. After all, new species of animals are still being discovered everyday. Maybe people just thought that we got rid of the dragon and forgot about it...people don't like beleiving in these things..they want them to stay myth and legend, so that is what it seems like. I have never seen a dragon, but I have also never seen a great white shark!

I think that dragons were more that mythical. There are a certian group of dinosaurs that have extrememly large sinuses. I think they were really places to store chemicals that produced fire. That's why their are stories of fire breathing dragons. Before you laugh, there is a type of dinosaurs air heads. And there is a beetle that can produce fire by mixing two chemicals. It can blister your skin, check it out. Bombardier beetles www.failedsuccess.com.../weblog/comments/bombardier_beetle/ are mean little critters.
If you can't find a fire breathing dragon, maybe you can settle for a flame throwing beetle.

It is very unlikely that there arent dragons yet there are still the possibility that there are. If alive dragons would be in a protected and an area where humans have barely been, maybe somewhere in Bourneo or The amazon. Or maybe the alps! There are many possiblities but you probably wont find any in North America as its all colonised to an extent where nothing the size of the creature in description (7-10 meters) could hide. But keep hoping i guess.

I'm curious, why would you choose those areas? Most dragon tales are from China and Europe. I would think that any remaining dragons would be hiding out in those areas. Wasn't there a dragon killed in Italy in the 1400's? I will have to do a little research but there was supposed to be one killed there, but it was called a dinosaur. Maybe you can check that out.

Such ignorance! You who say that there is no evidence that dragons exist show total ignorance of the world around you. Answer these questions if you can. If dragons never existed then why does every nation in recorded history have descripions, tales, and legends about the dragons in the past and present? If the indians dragon tale of dragons is of a large bird then why do their arts tell us a diferent story? What evidence can you bring forth that the dragons do not exist? Why is it that more than 4000 reports of dragons come monthly from all over the globe? What are the chances of an estimated 48000 people yearly who report of sightings of dragons are all lying? How can you say that dragons do not exist if over 80% of the world remains unexplored? What is truely illogical about a creature such as the dragon; what in biology states that no such creature can exist?

Just by logic dragons have a very good chance of being real. This is without any evidence and the argument against the dragons begins to wane.

One reason I think that dragons sightings are so scarce is because I believe that dragons have great intelligence and are able to aviod man kind if they wish to.

Now, since I've been young and learned of the story of Adam and Eve, the devil took the form of a serpent to tempt Eve. He spoke to her, and could fly and had legs. After the sin, God took the wings and legs and made the majestic creature from there on out slither on its belly. I always imagined the creature that lucifer used as a "dragon" Wish i could quote scripture and all, but just thought I would throw my idea out there. = D

He may have been a serpent but the bible gives no reference to it's form.

It's hard to deny a bottle of vodka when it's sitting in front of you!

Dragons I consider to be much like gods....people using the best of their abilities (questionable) available at the time to explain natural phenomena, or 'fireside shadows'.
