Reason for No Disclosure

If it was disclosed, the aliens would start appearing more(because they would think it's ok due to disclosure), which would cause panic.

Face it -

you wake and go outside to grab your early morning paper, and see aliens in your yard. You KNOW that is probably not good.

I am rooting for disclosure, but I also understand the agrument against it.

Not everyone is ready for this, including many of us who claim they are.

Unfortunately, we also have to entertain the idea of no disclosure is there may be nothing of substance to disclose. I know that thought alone breaks a lot of hearts around here, but it must be considered.

I for one wish there was a lot that could be disclosed, but considering how good ours, and any, government is a keeping secrets I doubt humans are holding the cards of disclosure if you know what I mean.

I understand what you mean, quite explicitly too.

I haven't developed a sense of moral compassion to the little green dudes yet, so in many ways i'm more inclined to be aggressive during an encounter than passive.

What they need to do is have some sort of national event, where they can stick one of the aliens on a podium and let it speak to the masses.

I think its total bull#!
There is no reason at all for not disclosing.

First of all, the majority believes in alien life, second of all, there was a time when people didnt know of other people on only this planet.

Not even to talk about discovering about people existing that were black instead of white.

Sure, we started wars, we started slavery, but that aint gonna happen with aliens, damnit just disclose this #, it has far more advantages than disadvantages

Disclosure MUST come if Off-World Intelligences are visiting our planet.

Will there ever be a good time?
Probably yes for some people and no for others but the important thing is that the human race cannot walk around with blinkers on for the rest of eternity if they are here.

You can't cross a river full or crocs saying to yourself, "that croc isn't there, that croc isn't there" because the only outcome is you'll be bitten on the A*s! Denial serves only the foolish!

If 'they' are here, then let it be - because our denial won't make them go home. You can stick your head under the sheets but it won't change a thing.

The quicker people know, the sooner they will get over it. One thing is for certain, we can't be prostrate through fear of moving forward. Imagine the world today if Columbus and Cook etc were worried about such things!

The truth will always be the truth no matter how painful it is for some!
