Ouch! Too bad there aren't any early Sumerians here to object
Money does NOT equal advancement, as advancement is relative. What you think is advanced may be primitive from the point of view of another
civilization.
Those who built the stonehenge and the great pyramids used the technology of sound wave focusing. They used sound waves to manipulate and move huge
massive objects that our "advanced technology" would be hard pressed to replicate. They did all that without any metal or computers or complicated
machinery. They used a few simple tools, and KNOWLEDGE of how it is done. Like I said, what you define as advanced is by no means universal, and the
word advanced is a deceiving concept. Our civilization is comforted by the thought that we're "less primitive, wiser, more advanced" etc than the
peoples that came before us. Well, whatever makes you feel special...
But objective reality does not conform with personal desires and relative notions of "advancement" or "good" or "evil" or anything else for that
matter. Such notions are deceptive, but are taken as fact by way too many people.
Does it looks like the world is an improved, better place due to our "advancements"? Is there less famine, less suffering? Did we REALLY improve the
status and condition of mankind with what we term "advanced technology"? Well you'd better think twice...
So like I said, advancement is a relative term. Also, don't get me wrong, it is not my goal to improve the condition of anyone, as anyone's
perception and subjective judgement of anyone else's condition is also relative and subject to change based on outlook. However, the point I'm
making is the overall situation and condition on this planet (let's not call it good or bad or anything else, it is what it is) has not really
changed much if at all.
The benefits of our "advancement" are also our own illusions, and silly ideas that you somehow NEED or require these advanced gadgets to promote
your own idea that you are somehow "modern" and "advanced", as it seems to be a comforting thought for many people. Humans have much to learn,
eh?
